It’s all about teamwork right . You can also take 1 month ++ leave. You cover for me, I cover for you.
But I think the increment is very bad.

increment in 2019 and previous years is how many % usually?? is there such a thing as increment by grade? E5, E6, M1? or all levels get same percentage?

2 digit only.

Unregistered 22-06-2021 04:01 AM

Hi. Am senior engineer E6, salary just below $5.4k. Perm for >5 years. Is this good?

Unregistered 22-06-2021 06:34 AM

My bonus last few years range from 2.4 to 2.7 mths as perm staff. Not excluding since covid began which last 2 years bonus sucked. Around 2 mths and below.

How does E6 get only 4.2k? Is it because of their low starting pay years ago due to their lower qualification? Or are they gradudates but increment sucked?

In my previous division, the more senior staff (M2 and above) are able to clear around 1 month at a go, one after another. So basically during EOY the whole area is so empty.

I think that is correct, especially with now the packages are calculated now. Even with old packages the new hires will have slightly higher pay, with 13th month rolled the differences will be even bigger.

I think it's quite the norm that usually new hires will have higher pay than old-timers of the same grade. Not many companies will have salary adjustments to match market forces. However, I still think the biggest factor here is the measely annual increment. If a staff gets $100 on a good year, but new hires are already paid $200 more for basic, there is no way for the existing staff to match the salary of new hire if they are in the same grade.

Yes, there are a few who come in at M grade, collect 7 to 8k per month while enjoying 3 hour lunch (11 AM to 2 PM) and 2 tea breaks (1 in morning, 1 in afternoon).

Retrenchment only for those who don't bring in biz. For those former SAF folks who joined ST, it's smooth sailing. Vincent tried to change things, but the deep rooted SAF culture is too deeply entrenched.

So they change from JLB to 'Umbrage'? Sounds like moving from a ditch to another ditch.

Annual increment letter will out so fast meh? Based on last few years, sometimes the letter or e-letter will arrive after the salary itself isn't it?

where do people jump to after st? most i heard is go LTA. the skill set used in st is so random, never use those 8D or FMEA or whatever normal engineering methods to solve problem. everything problem just ask customer can close eye or not.

i am underpaid as fk. 3year working exp (2 years in ST), promoted this year but am E5 getting below 3.3k mthly, am st contract with 0.5mth bonus, and best of all i have band 1 grading for 2 years. my previous bonus also 0.5mth. i can show proof to mods for my below 3.3k salary, 0.5mth bonus and band 1

i signed my st contract, but really felt 2 years wasted for nothing.
