if it is really 10% increment(maybe the total increment of 1x in june and 1x in dec = 10%) at least per year.....

then I can say that those 2nd upper grad with NS, starting 3580, after 3 years in dsta will be getting 4.7k if no promotion, will hit 5k if got at least 1x promotion...<<<m i correct to say that this is true!!!

and every 2-3 years, will have salary/wage market adjustment too

thank for the input

Dont be cock la.. what 10%.. much less than that... even if perform well also not significant.. around 5% only... VERY GOOD performer then may get 8%...

not forgetting quarterly Market Adjustment Component for salary to be matched competitively to the market. the adjustment will never be negative, either 0% or increase.

quarterly Market Adjustment Component(MAC) for salary to be matched competitively to the market.

got such thing one ah??normally how much is the MAC, how often is the MAC more than 0%

LEt say an engineer getting $4000 in Jan 2013,

MAC in Apr13 = 1% = $4040
MAC in Jul13 + AI(Annual increment) in jul13= 1.5% MAC + 5% AI = $4302
MAC in Oct13 = 1% = $4345
MAC in Jan14 = 1% = $4388

Mean in a span of 1 yr from Jan2013 to Jan 2014, his salary increase from 4000 to 4388, mean ~9.7% increment in total in a year!!!

Am I correct from the above example??

Went for an interview at DSTA 2 weeks ago. The HR mentioned that he will get back to me by 1-2 weeks.
Now that 2 weeks have passed, no news from the HR. Am i considered been rejected? As usually only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

which department did you applied for? don't be too worried. usually rejected candidates will be informed earlier. no news is good news for the first few weeks.

Which other companies do you suggest? Why DSTA sucks? Care to elaborate ?

Anyway i am very much content with DSTA high salary. In fact, i think it is too good to be true!

For fresh grad:
1st class: $4270
2nd upper: $3970
2nd lower: $3770

Unregistered 17-11-2013 01:29 PM

let say someone with 2nd lower with NS join DSTA as an engineer,

assume he is average performer, or C grader constantly for all 5 years, and with all annual increments & all quarterly Market Adjustment Component + 1 promotion,

what will be his salary after 5 years?

Please advise
