tks for the tip

have been reading this thread and some folks share some formula/approach able to ramp up to 90kpa and above fast

i totally missed all the checkpoints for years haha

but ive wisened up more, maybe better late than never lol

i also interview people and i see some guys my age earning 50kpa, some even slightly less.

think the range can be broad and based on many factors.

im at peace wif how my life turned out

now just need to do a bit more due diligence and secure a package that i can continue to build my life and career on positively

As you are deemed to be from the private sector, just to also let you know that only relevant experience will be counted for increments. So whether you can get 6k depends on the specific CS job which you are applying for. If relevant, you will get 8 increments for 8 years of post-degree experience. If not, they might slash it to about 4 increments for 8 years of post-degree experience.

tks for the share!

im an o level holder that cldnt secure poly even (ah beng haha)

but slowly and surely turned my life around, completed private dip then abt 10 years later go sim to do my bachelors.

i guess u can say im happy to be given opportunity to interview even. will do due diligence and stay positive no matter whats outcome

As I have said, if you are as good as LHL moving from 4k@ 18 to 20k @35 as a BG, your average annual increment is just 10%.

You as good as LHL?

In an admittedly perverse way, such posts expressing disbelief or bitterness actually make me feel very blessed that my annual increment (exceeding 10%) is viewed by some to be so extraordinary or exceptional as to trigger such a response!

This sort of statement is pretty basic instinct for parasitic civil servant because civil servant are able to transfer the fruits of labor from private sector, making them far more richer than productive citizen.

Assuming this man has 14 month salary per annum making a total of $93k, his monthly salary is a respectable $6.7k, and such is the salary of a manager.

This will also place him above 73% of his age group, according to salary.com.

Our leeches civil servant has been drawing too much by being expert in sucking coc, and no other skill set.

this guy sour grapes? fyi salary increment by percentage is not accurate since salary increments are faster at the start of your career. 4k move to 5k, maybe 2 years only. 10k move to 11k, maybe you dont even get the chance.

10% increment annually is easy and probably underperforming for the first 5 years of your career.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong. It is very rare to have 20% hike even for the very top scholar, and may not even be possible.

Joined 2010: salary $2900
2011 pb 2.5 mths
2012 pb 3 mths n promoted.
2013 pb 2.5 mths.
2014 pb 3.2 mths n promoted.
2015 pb 2 mths. Salary $6600

Look at your above fake number and let me dissect it further.

2010 Grade MX13 (typical for non scholar)
2012 Grade MX12
2014 Grade MX11
*********************************

A 20% hike for scholar will be something like that and that requires 4 promotion at least, into the rank of MX10. You will need at least 4 promotion.

2010 MX13
2011 MX12
2012 MX11
2013 MX10

Everytime you get promoted into a grade like a rocket, the HR will need to ensure that your salary hit the base of the grade.

Thats where you got a huge jump.

So many people here like to fake high salary and many you guys here not clever in rigging numbers. Time you guys get lost.

One more thing I wish to amend.

Scholar typically started off MX12. I do not know if the elite scholar started off MX11, but that is possible, given that they typically got more than 4K starting, and MX11 or MX12 commensurate with their salary.

It is not uncommon for the very top (not the normal scholar) scholar to get yearly promotion initially.

Moving up at each grade get progressively more difficult and it get significantly slower (or stagnant for some) after MX10.
