Pay scale of Deputy Director under MX scheme
Hi
I would like to enquire what are the pay scale of Deputy Director, which falls under MX10a/MX10b and in some cases under MX9? |
Hi, can anyone share what is the MI
normally for mx 13(I) to mx 12? |
It depends on market conditions. Check the letter which confirms your promotion. In this case there are promotion increment and merit increment.

I have seen a few posts by users fresh out of uni with starting salaries of 4.5k - 5k as MX13. I understand that these might be positions in "specialised" ministries / SB, but how would the salary progression look like for these people? Is the only difference being that they will reach the salary ceiling for MX12 much faster, and future increments will therefore have to depend on their promotion to MX11 and beyond?

consider that a software developer in a real middle sized software company already paying this range for fresh grads more than a decade ago. by real i mean they have their own products and do their own developm, not outsourced agencies |

And how will their salary / career progression scale considering that they their starting pay is already somewhat near the MX12 salary ceiling? |
Anyone able to share more about the intelligence scheme? Does it include MSD, ISD, SID? How is the starting pay, overall package and progression or promotion structure? Do people usually stay for their life after joining since the skills may not be so transferable over to private sector?

Is 4.5k-5k as MX13 really considered a specialised role? Is that not the normal range for a fresh grad? |

Aka short and fat. |

If a fresh grad in a non-specialised role can potentially draw 5k+, will fresh grads in law / MFA / intel / MTI be drawing upwards of 6k (assuming a 20% premium)? |

Don't bother going around thinking / speculating, other people can get this rate, I should be able to get this as well. Just go and apply and interview and get an offer. U will have your answer then and there. |

The range for specialised roles is naturally much broader. The MFA FSO scheme pays almost 6k these days to male fresh grads, from what I heard. |

priority on work life balance + stability, should I only be looking at AD/SAD roles? what is the overall package like? need some advices. currently with private tech drawing 150k p.a. not including equity |

Best guess is you want worklife balance because you are probably overworked right now. You can get the worklife balance in public sector if you agree to a paycut. Because it is highly unlikely any ministry will match your current pay. |

However, you mentioned you are in tech, which pays a premium. So if you go to Govtech for example, you will be able to hit your current pay at a MX11A grade (Asst Direct) |

private tech firm does not offer stability, we undergo restructuring every other quarter, I'm currently in the stage of family planning, therefore don't mind taking a pay cut if I can have a predictable and stable work life, more importantly no night calls and will be able to leave work on time.
Hoping to find a ministry role that can offer the flexibility for me to step back for a while, and then step up again for a bigger role when kid finally grows up. is that too much to ask? |

You cant get WLB with your current pay in the government service. |

1. a substantial paycut of 30% or more 2. hired on contract basis, with some risk of no renewal after it ends some additional pointers for you to know...nowadays most new hires are on contract, not perm. so the stability part is actually not 100%. and depending on the ministry you join, you may also still need to OT occasionally. even if you have the option to refuse, it will be reflected in your performance grade somehow. of course, you might be lucky enough to get an insignificant paycut (or perhaps one might even match your pay) and you could also get emplaced permanently. with these information on possibilities and risks, you decide for yourself if it is too much to ask for? :) |
