Not just some low level HRIS, but wanted to move on to a more valuable strategic role. It may sound ridiculous, just wanted to ask if there is such cases or not. Maybe 5 yr period might be more realistic. HR Analytics sounds pretty niche and highly sought after. Sorry if I startled you :) |

There are many high paying jobs, but why would anyone hire someone with no power academic credentials, industry connections or relevant experience at all to strategic work? If so easy all the IT engineers / programmers will switch to strategic HRIS liao. Aim high is good, but must always do reality check. |
Yup thanks for the reminder! Back to the topic...
Whats the prospect of HR Analytics...? Not talking about the usual dashboards or kpi or metrics... It is more like identifying trends or signs or even prediction to drive business decisions? Big Data, data warehousing, regression, statistics etc... I feel passionate about it, but will like to hear any real life encounters... it might be heaven to me, but maybe in reality it is a nightmare! |

BP/C&B/HRIS/Talent sometimes do data resarch & analysis to guide business decisions, but they do not focus on just analyzing monstrous volume of statistical trend data. If dealing with data is your passion, you should consider a career in Finance/Logistics. HR deals primarily with humans even for the more quantitative specializations like HRIS or C&B. I am having difficulty figuring out what exactly is it that you are passionate about other than a very vague notion of data crunching. |

Quite surprise to see so many dreamers in a HR topic, always thought they are more down to earth and firendly not so career driven kind.
Like nobody is asking how to develop a proper stable career, most question are like those finance / banking type, all want to ask for tips and shortcuts to make mega salaries with a few years work. |

If I am not into Finance, Is it still a good idea to want to go into HR specialist roles? I know C&B requires a strong financial background. Are the rest not so finance-oriented?
