Anyway , you should take with a grain of salt, and shouldn’t believe me cause i don’t want you to be rejecting jobs if you are not paid as much as what i quoted - i don’t know if there are other things that influence your pay. Lol. On average, MINDEF’s payscale tends be a little higher than the rest of civil service executive scheme (non specialised role). Just FYI, MINDEF’s stat board can go as high as 5k for a fresh grad given your comparison to the most relevant ‘stat boards’ under MINDEF.

And why are graduates so scared of being underpaid these days? I agree that MINDEF won’t underpay you for your qualification. If you have friends getting higher, it would mean that they have something else to offer to the hiring dept which they think is worth paying higher for, keeping all else constant.

Young lady, if you want to ask for advice, appreciate them even if you don’t believe after hearing ‘hearsays’. No wonder people say that fresh grads these days are cmi.

i doubt anyone will answer you regarding security process.

timeline depends on your level of clearance. i waited 6 weeks or so because boss wanted me to be cleared at a higher level. but end up took too long.. did the basic one first(just some forms when you submit at CMPB). then followed up higher clearance when in job.

I’ve looked through some of the old posts for interview (site preview) timeline - successful applicants usually get a call within 3-4 days? Still accurate?
Do they only call one applicant, or maybe the top 2? (Like a backup, since they’ll be visiting the actual job place and maybe they prefer one over the other?)

Hi folks,

I came to ask this with a context knowing that possession of pornographic materials in hand phone is a chargeable offence under SAF disciplinary guidelines from my reservist. I know that anything that consist of human flesh and exposes the 3 sensitive points of the female persona infringes the SAF act.

I am also considering to apply for a role under MINDEF listed under careers.gov.sg and I have definitely met and probably exceeded the job requirements.

Just wanted to ask those who are already working inside, while I don't watch porn (I have confidence that my internet history is quite clean), I do have a hobby of flying overseas to visit adult expos (like the upcoming Taiwan Adult Expo 2019) but I don't store any photos in any of my gadgets.

I also have a collection of animes of harem genre in my personal hard disk. (Apologies to all haters but I believe every human has their own kinks).

The reason why I would like to work in MINDEF is my obsession with tactical equipment (Other than stilettos, my sweater & pants are practically slash and water proof) and I would like a job which comes with free exercising facilities. I am also a constant recipient of the Best NSmen award during reservist as I totally look forward to camp life every cycle (but I cannot sign on as I am PES C9 due to injuries during NSF days).

May I know if it is a risk for me to even consider working in MINDEF or should I just remain in the private sector or other non-MSD linked government organisations rather than to waste my time getting charged into DB? Would appreciate some insights into this before I even waste my time applying.

Just apply and try. I mean there are other sieving stages before anyone makes a decisionso give it go and see what happens.

With regards to pornographic materials, as long as you do not possess them, SAF/MINDEF does not care about. But if they happen to be in your phone when you’re being checked, then good luck you will mostly likely be warned and/or fine.

Not all camps give exercising facilities, be sure to apply for camp based jobs. Places like CMPB, DTTB, MINDEF May not have facilities you want.

I applied for a role in MINDEF in late May, but I have not received any replies regarding my application, does it mean that I failed and need to reapply :(

How tough is the psychometric test?

It consists of 3 stages:

1) Comprehension for short passages - Reasoning

2) Logical Pattern Recognition - IQ & Pattern Recognition

3) 185 Questions Personality with 10 MCQ questions again on Language

Its a 3 hours long session with mini breaks in between.

To me, the tests are manageable despite the time frame but it is normal not to complete all the questions with the short time frame given. (20 to 25 mins only for each test)

You can try giving HR a call asking about your application progress.

The rejection comes in the form of email.

Successful applicants are informed through phone calls throughout all the stages after passing the interview at CMPB (Stage 2).

Hey does anyone know the format of the site preview? Is it like another interview? I read that some people got rejected after that stage.

Could have a few candidates, or solo.

Then see the work environment, and meet some potential colleagues (be it other bosses or people you are managing). It is still considered another stage of interview.

Actually it goes both ways, sometimes people get a shocked after previewing such environment too.

So when successful from that stage you will be offered a verbal offer subjected to clearance and medical.

(Which CAT + the rough process) Also regarding medical clearance- didn't go to NS since I'm female so was wondering if there's any PT stuff to look out for? Haven't done those NAPFA related things in years lol.
