Is it better to just submit application for only one role? Or can you apply for multiple since maybe another unit will take you? Or if one is unsuccessful means all will be the same

avg performer perf bonus is about 1.5 mths. one of the lowest in civil service. but they will convince you that MINDEF pays above market avg.

recently, someone said all civil servants have at least 5% increment to beat inflation. all i can say is take this info with a pinch of salt.

Unregistered 02-12-2022 01:59 PM

Civil service is known for stability and not for pay. Want pay then go private

Facts are rude? You little snowflake. Civil service is where the mediocre go to suck on the taxpayer's tit.

Just curious. If working as operations related DXO with access to classified information, will you still need to do reservice?
Eg. Intel unit but non uniform

Unregistered 04-12-2022 09:38 PM

Any levels of DXO did not get adjustment ?

obviously u are not from mindef. "generally"lol. MINDEF increment is aligned with PSD which is similar across public sector. MINDEF internal performance merit adjustment is on a different level from other public sector. Last year alone, do u think with the two increment, it is only worth $200? Even for non degree track DXO will not be that.

DXO recruitment timeline

can anyone whom joined as a DXO recently be kind enough to share a break down of the entire recruitment timeline?

Unregistered 13-12-2022 01:43 PM

It takes on average 2-3 months for your 2 rounds of interview....if they are urgent, it be be 1.5 months......after they settled that you r the one....clearance will take 3-5 months....

Week 0: Submit application

Week 2: Contacted by unit for a written assessment and interview

Week 3: Written assessment and interview. On the same day, unit asked me to go for a unit preview

Week 4: Unit preview in the morning. In the afternoon, HR called to ask if I was keen. Thereafter, I submitted G50 and went for security vetting.

Week 10/11: Offer came after I passed my security clearance.

There was someone who said this, but I would think that it also depends on the role applied for since it will determine the clearance needed etc.

Didn't meet anyone. Was told my application is "still processing". My feeling is they are probably consolidating all the rejects then one shot send rejection emails.

as in didn't meet anyone after the interview.

Unregistered 15-12-2022 05:31 PM

They gather candidates per batch so any acceptance/rejections is via batch as well. It depends on how the interviewer talked during your interview, whether they really keen to have you or not.
