depends on level of clearance. some positions do not require higher clearance. some are more sensitive positions.

7.30 - start work

9.30 - return to office
11.30 - drive out, lunch at Bukit Panjang Plaza, pay bills, buy stuff for home (2 hours)

1.45 - back at office
3.00 - tea break (30 mins)
3.35 - back at office
4.45 - go toilet, clear bladder
4.55 - back at desk
5.00pm - shut down pc, go back home

MINDEF is one place where you can really slack and earn iron rice bowl. Sometimes they'll be unnecessary meetings where people will talk and talk about things but the thing is that decisions have already been made prior to these meetings so you pause and ask yourself why then are we having the meetings in the first place LOL!

where did you get this false impression? We do not have breakfast hours, long lunch breaks and tea breaks. We certainly do not go home at 5 sharp everyday

1 year probation, after that perm. 2 years contract is the older scheme

I just went for security clearance exercise, pending medical exam and phototaking for the SAF card. A verbal quote of my salary was given to me as well. Just wondering if there is still room for me to reject the job offer at this point, since I technically have not signed anything?

yes technically you can reject. but please do not wait till last minute as you as wasting the HR time and denying a slot for a potential candidate.
