If someone is willing to share the information, why no one can confirm? Lol

Whoever is foolish enough to belive the words of a faceless poster who doesn't even know the difference between an employee on contract terms and an augmented resource

Alot of factors: depends on which grades to which, past performances (2 consecutive Bs) and how much ur MIC justifies for u.

Promo letter probably next week but ur MIC already knows and should have informed promotees privately :)

Unregistered 05-04-2024 12:46 AM

you ppl should chill on the competencies, it doesnt directly correlate to promotion.

It does somehow. Because next grade has the competencies to meet. Hence ppl try to chiong to l3

yes even if you have L3, there still 101 reason of not being promoted

If the bosses want to promote you, they will help you get L3. If they don't want to promote you, you everything L3 also no use.

Competency assessment is a waste of time. Just paperwork. Cowards don’t dare to take skillset tests or leet coding tests.

Guess 80% of engineers of Grade I and above will fail tests. Many of them just talk but don’t code or already obsolete since no hands-on for too long. When there is issue, they just arrow junior staff to fix without any understanding of the problem.

That’s because it’s their job to manage you. Why do we want a Grade I to code? This is the reason why no matter how well you do you are just a developer. You’ll never make it or understand what it takes to be in management.

Well u are right. I think similar arguments has been posted before and some posters said then what are we called govtech

Unregistered 06-04-2024 12:28 PM

Wah I read these posts I really want to join govtech. It seems like you can get compensated really really well but you don't need that much skills. But now hiring freeze right? Cos of the indeed saga is it? T

To be fair, it’s not solely due to Indeed's case; however, they were the last straw that broke Govtech’s back. Govtech began in 2016 as a result of the merger between IDA and MDA, forming IMDA and Govtech.

Initially, there were under 2k employees (1.1k in agencies and 800 in HQ), mostly comprising old-timers seconded to agencies as their IT department and support staff in HQ. HQ staff include product teams (GDS/Indeed/NDI), corporate services (HR/finance, governance, procurement, etc.), agency support (CTS, CTMO, SAO, etc.), and Cap centers (DISA, OGP, GIG, CSG, etc.).

Fast forward to post-Covid FY22 (1.6k in agencies and 1.9k in HQ), FY23 (1.6k in agencies and 2.6k in HQ), and projected FY24 (1.5k in agencies and 2.5k in HQ). Figures don't lie; the above data is from the MOF budget's publicly accessible website's establishment list (estimating the current FY's staff count, subject to revision).

While CE said SLM is trimming fat across Govtech, it's evident where the chopping board is headed :) Those from product side should refrain from being arrogance and overbearing and please see the monthly movement list on OneSpace to see how many product side colleagues are jumping ship to SVC. I ever heard they said, they will rather resign than joining SVC….. haha btw only SVC still has available slots, and, lastly, SVC doesn't take in those Grade I team lead with only 3-5 years of exp ;)

does the 2 Bs in 2 years promotion criterion apply to Grade G and above?

Let’s be realistic. It’s like expecting all HDB officers to mix cement.
