Remember that.

Managers are there to promote themselves by using you.
So the next time you do something for your manager, ask yourself.

If i do this task, will I be promoted or your manager.
If the answer is your manager will take the limelight and credit, then don't do.

Engineers are used like stepping stone.
Managers keep climbing higher and higher

Its the manager leadership and planning and coordination thats why the project sucess.
Not wrong la

My time there I was the one with a niche skill and certificate there. I even came up with a lot of recommendations to meet the customers' requirements. I was there to pacify the customer and take all the bullets when things go awry.

But no, the management rather promotes the engineers that make the most noises pointing fingers when it is obvious the planning and design went wrong.

When I tendered my resignation, the managers panicked and hoped I would stay and help them with the implementation of a new solution and kick-start a project. I really want to show them the finger but I see no point in wasting my own efforts. My point is simple, they could have shown more appreciation during my time there and not waited till I tendered.

Where did u go after tender? I also want zhao but feel like this place is very relax

I went private and took a different track although once in a while I still do what I did in ST.

My previous BU was not relaxed. People left and management wanted to keep manpower lean work was often delayed and I ended up doing more administrative work and pacifying customers as the technical teams were overwhelmed and could not produce the deliverables on time.

I dunno how you defined 'relaxed' but i would say it is still easier than in private.

What you faced in ST against govt agencies/stat board versus what you will face in Private against them is really different.

Sack you for poor performance? When they're lacking in manpower already they sack you who deliver? lol. Plus the fact that no much people wants to join. It might not be as iron rice bowl as in the past but the bowl is still more tough than private.

Not relaxed at all.
Come office 730 am, meeting back to back different suppliers. Few hours long.
Then end of the day need to prepare document etc. Leave office only 7 pm.

Every day rushing. For months is like this now.
Where is the relax part?

Alot of ex employees or users here says its a retirement home. You can try to apply and get the job and see it for yourself. Not trying to say it is a retirement home as i myself never work there before.

Verrry good company.

A dream company for anyone who wants to retire and do your side business.

Unregistered 30-08-2022 10:15 AM

Yeah can come work at 915 am then go breakfast as a group until 945 am.
Then check email warm the seat less than 1 hour go lunch at 1130 am
Come back office 130 pm after lunch.

They useless lo.

I have personally seen 5.
Quit then come back after a few years.

What losers.
And when they rejoin no more perm position.
Lost all the additional annual leave, benefits.

So stupid.
Desperate lo cause the working experience only have use in this company.
Not much use outside.

Even those work here long can't find work outside.
End up become those 50 to 60 years old consultants. Still get paid but never in office one.
Once or twice in 1 month appear then talk big and loud like they are so valuable.

Alot of losers in their company.
Talent? Haven't seen any.

Got. In the guard room, one principle engineer keeps seeing people's employee passes. Honestly, I have no idea why this company needs to hire a principle engineer for the guard room;

I bet to differ. Some come back with upgrade of rank promotion. Depends on who brings you back. Seen M3 come back as M4 after working less than 1 year outside of ST.

No rhyme or reason one la this company.
Example got a senior manager join this company just before covid. Was a deputy division manager for a company. Then during covid didn't really do much. Suddenly promoted to become VP or a new division of 3 man. Then this month reorg again he become SVP of another company.
3 years promoted each year.

Then heard rumour is recommended from another svp one.
But start him at senior manager to train him or let him familiarised with the company but the end goal was to make him svp.
Not based on merit one la.

The division manager that was "training" him not happy la. He worked here 30 years still a division manager while another young guy come under him. Within 3 years higher rank than him and power liao.

Promotion not based on merits.
Its based on your boss wanna promote u or not.
That's the thing people fail to understand.
You can be the smartest. You can be most hardworking.
Your boss don't want to promote you. You don't get promotion.

That's why alot of politics here.
Promotion is not based on merit
