My application status was changed from "submitted" to "in process" today.
Does this mean anything positive?
Can anyone with experience please share what are the various statuses there is?
Thank you!

I don't think it mean anything. I have gotten rejection email and then the status changed to in process. So getting a call from HR is better than looking at the status.

Hi, i attended an interview yesterday and it lasted about half an hour. Throughout the interview, hr did not make any question nor comment and only answered my qns toward near end of interview. However, hr did not tell me whether when they will get back to me and i also forgot to ask at the interview as I was nervois and also focused on asking other qns and answering qns. If HR or interviewer did not mention when they will get back to me, is this an indication of gone case?

Hi all,

Chanced upon this thread and would like to check what are my chances of getting the role given that I went for my final interview, HR has requested for salary documents and performed referee checks.

Was surprised at how fast things went. Was called up for the first interview and the next day, HR called me to go for second (final) interview. Everything happened so quickly all within a week.

Thank you.

verbal offer and security clearance duration

hi! (: would really appreciate help and advice

I've gone for first and second round of interviews with a ministry and the HR called me up to give a verbal offer. Then I received email to go for health check. Health check is completed by now, and it seems the check went fine. Was told to wait 2-3 weeks as the package is pending approval from senior management, but HR was not able to give me a definite time and a confirmation that I have already secured this job. the status at Careers@Gov is 'shortlisted'

Is there a possibility that they will go back on their word? is there anyone given a verbal offer and then after waiting for a long time, have the offer taken away? is there anyone who after a long wait, finally receive success?

Am really keen to hear what the process is like. i have some other offers coming up and i'll really regret if i find that this ministry position is lost, and I have already turned them down.

appreciate your help! thanks! (:

I went for an interview for an adjunt position (1-year contract) on the 26 Jan. This is from one of the ministry.

Got a letter to go for a medical checkup. Done it on 24 Feb.

Got a call from HR to submit for documents on 01 Mar. Send and received by the HR on 02 Mar.

Send an email to HR asking any updates on 15 Mar. HR reply 1 day later, saying currently processing my application.

Called HR on 30 Mar for updates. They reply saying will update me the following week (this week).

Gave them a call yesterday, HR say still no update and say they are still processing. The HR lady also say my case seem to be unusually long, and claim that she do not know why.

My job application status for this job in the career.gov show "Shortlisted"

So does this mean I got the job or not?

hi. i'm in such a situation too---can i check with you if you got it in the end? roughly how long was the whole wait? thank u!

Hi, would like to ask if anyone has been offered a perm position in any gov agencies recently? I was told that they only offer contract for new joiners and it's a 3 years contract to be converted to perm if performance is good. Would appreciate it if someone can enlighten me. Thanks

No one joins as a perm. Standard is 1 or 2 years contract before they convert you to perm.
