I see, thank you for your explanation. Barring any unforeseen circumstances and if I say that I'm open to the other role, is it likely that HR will make an offer?

If you are in the org, you can probably figure it out. See which DDs are the most overworked, ends up doing COS, etc.

Finance and Admin DDs usually not superscale, HR also usually not.

o btw what does COS stands for?

My division has both "strategy" and "policy" in it's name....depending on how high you wanna go.....

Hi all,

Got an offer at the start of the week and when HR asked for a proposed start date, I proposed 6 weeks from now. (context: fresh grad wanting to enjoy my last dec hols) However, HR asked if I could start earlier.

Is this a red flag, & would you advise starting earlier?

yes, there are. i didn't say superscale=scholar. much easier to get into superscale schemes if you are not a scholar nowadays. but if the role is earmarked for superscale, it's hard for a non-superscale to occupy the position

Question on when to apply to Ministry

Hi all, am interested in joining a Ministry but some people say that it is too early to apply. (Gradtuating in May, hoping to start in June).

Some people who used to work at Sentosa Dev (under MTI) said the max they can wait is usually 2 months. Anyone can advise? Thanks!

For the pre-employment medical exam (for a normal office job), would high blood pressure be an issue?

What are you afraid of? Just go and tell them that you decide to join the second sb. What can they do to you?

Recently got offered around 3.2k by an agency. Am graduating in May 2022 and was told that pay may be adjusted after I graduate. May I know what are the chances of a pay adjustment?

Expected to grad with FCH.

This is actually really low? Are you from NUS, NTU or SMU? Which agency is this?

People from the above mentioned usually get 3.7k for 2nd upper and 3.8-3.9k for FCH even from stat boards.

From FASS, NUS. Yea, I feel that it’s too low, considering the median is 3.5k for FASS. I expected the amount to be somewhere there too. Don’t want to mention which SB.

Are they trying to lowball me because I’ve yet to graduate?

When you graduate will have a raise. That's what happened to my colleague as well.

Doesnt matter higher or lower position…
Last email received from Singapore Customs HR is that they are in the midst of finalizing my application. Doesnt really know what that means, but already completed medical and refrence checks…

Hi, because I am only graduating after next Sem of sch, HR said they would inform me when I would start again. How about you? Also do you know how long vital takes before they give out the LOA? Quite worried cause it’s been 3 weeks for me since the HR said vital would contact me.
