Maybe can take one term NPL but couch it as needing a mental break / take care of family etc? No need to notify SLs that want to go overseas if you’re on npl right lol

Not possible one. You can try applying to HQ for 2-3 years so that you are on leave system and can travel whenever you want.

Not true that all HQ officers can take leave whenever they want. If your work is closely tied to schools then you can't easily take leave during school term. This applies to a lot of Professional Wing divisions.

when teachers’ pb is paid? how’s teachers’ annual salary increment based? previously heard that it’s 4% annual increase but reading the forum sounds like it’s based on our pb grade.

PB is usually paid in late March every year.

The annual increment ("merit increment" or MI) is based on several factors including: subgrade, distance away from salary ceiling of subgrade, performance grade for the previous work year, whether the officer was promoted the previous October, Singapore's economic performance/outlook, and perhaps some other hidden factors.

MI used to average around 3% for the average performer, but during COVID, MIs were suppressed noticeably. It doesn't seem like it will ever return back to what it used to be, but only HR insiders will know for sure.
