Last year's merit increment was 260. So it seems like the promotion increment is around twice of the merit increment.

May I know your Performance grade?

$260 is B grade for GEO 4. C and C+ all $192.

A is $300+

GEO 2 as BT? GEO 2 BT to GEO 3 is very fast. 1 to 2 yr. Progression to subgrade above this will take more time.

Not true for all. I have seen cases where teachers got it only in their 3rd, 4th or even 5th year..

But it's generally true if you do not mess things up for your first cohort promotion

Second year of teaching. Started as Geo 2 BT. Just promoted to Geo 3. Starting salary was $4150. Reached $4350 this January. After promotion is $4824

Woah, your pay is so high. Are you a guy?
I have female friends who are in their fifth year, GEO 3 for two years already and only earning $4.5k now.

Yes, I can't predict the outcome if one messes things up. However, the first promotion usually kicks in fast for those who come in as GEO 2.

Wow. Your starting pay is high. Fresh graduate? Or mid career switch? My starting salary was only 3k+. & why is there an increment in Jan?

I’m a male fresh grad with FCH. I might have the timeline on Jan increment wrong. Was referring to the previous increment before this.

This would mean you had B graders merit increments to bridge the salary. I have friends who only hit geo 4 only at their 8th or even 9th year..

Even as geo 4, their salary is still below $6k.. Only geo 3 is guaranteed provided one doesn't do silly things.. Geo 4 and 5, it depends on your performance already.

For you to confront your P, I think it's a strict no no in civil service. But then I may be wrong.

We have 1 on 1 sessions with P on a yearly basis where we are given the chance to ask anything we want and the entire school has to make an appointment to see the P.

I asked her during the meeting.

I didn't demand or sound hostile. I asked her what could be the reasons.

If along the years, you got a D or even a C-, this will push back your promotion by at least 3 years..

The fastest I have seen for a geo2 to 4 would be 4 years, even for ladies. Your CEP has a part to play also.. At the closed section of the wr form is the part which is not revealed to JH, your SLs together with your ROs will decide whether or not to recommend you for promotion..

I didn't have any C- or D. All Cs.

I spent 4 years in my subgrade. This april just finish 4 years.

I started off as a masters degree holder fyi.

Btw, if i get my geo 4 next april, I only get promotion increment but no merit increment?

Can help?
