Last time parents are super proud that their son or daughter work in EY, KPMG etc

Now its like, why you so stupid work in these kid of low pay long hours jobs. Especially when they compare with their nieces and nephews work in big mnc and tech companies with good life so eng still high pay plus all the work life balance, diversity inclusion etc etc. While Big 4 still very old school tekan junior style.

OMG YES.
I feedback to my poly lecturers.
I told them to find better internship partners and dont brainwash people to go into big4.
I even told them that big4 cannot compared to the years before.
U see so many audit failures...
So many incompetent people auditing big companies?
Last time i heard the most prestigious firm is Arthur andersen....., but now if we go thr, it is known as trash lol.

I even feedback to them to get those big companies like MBB, bulge bracket banks LOL. I know they dont take in poly students but if my poly manage to get this partnership, it will definitely boost their reputation.

Dumb lecturers work in sch too long and dk about the industry now.

When you become senior in 2 years, will you be the nice senior and tank more work? Or just give more to your junior?

And audit career progression is late game hero, if you compare early game sure lose one.

There is a chance your late game will be stronger than other people late game. No guarantee.

Late game of 10 years?
ermm....
U have to factor the time value of money.
There is a theory "bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush".
If u get high starting pay for fresh grad, after 10 years, the difference in the pay can accumulate to huge amount of money.

High starting pay also means = more employer CPF.
All these interest compounding is powerful for 10 years....

Late game for audit is not necessarily better in comparison to early game winners.

Same thing you think we are btr than jhk in big 4. But the reality is what makes you think big companies like MBB, bulge bracket banks wants useless peep like us from poly. They prolly think we are even more useless than those jhk..
, Waste their time and effort to train us from the start we don't even have any knowledge what so ever.. They could easily get fresh grad to do internship for them who are so much more knowledgeable.

You from Blue? My senior said the exact same thing a while ago.

Around 5 years to catch up to peers outside in terms of monthly pay.
Around 8 years to catch up in terms of cumulative pay.
10+ years to catch up after factoring time value of money.

Meanwhile I going Japan, Korea, US, while you working to 10pm.

Agree with the late game hero analogy. But let’s be real - Gen Z prefer strong consistent heroes over late game heroes.

Very few other jobs require you to work long hours while taking professional qualification.

Audit is statutory driven not market driven so what do you expect to get from big 4

Select the top student lah.

With ur mindset, then how are those students gonna gain experience? Everyone has to start from ground zero what..
I hate those recruiters say that those jobs are entry level but requirement states 2 year’s experience needed.
Like wtf?

You’re obviously not from Orange, else you will know when it’s out.

I’m more curious why you want to know? To compare with your firm? Or to take the knowledge and stir news?

A competitive package so that we can discharge our duties well. How come we are paid so poorly? Like lower than MOE teachers in the other thread
