The reality is we “seniors” are also just employees and quite young only 2 years out of school. Feels too early to be held responsible for someone else I’ve just met a few weeks ago. |

Is it true once you reach senior level you’ll basically sell your soul to the firm? Had a chat with my senior during lunch and he was saying he OT 7 days a week like badge of honor. Was so shocked at how he say he’s not burnt out despite working from 10am-10pm during weekends. At this rate, I am so scared I will be in this position soon. Are there still seniors out there who have a life?

Just see the number of local u grads trying to avoid big 4. Majority of the new hires are sit suss sim. Those that go big 4 or choose to stay there usually have no friends or life. They cant leave because they lack actual commercial knowledge outside of audit. Tons of jhk flood into sg not only to steal audit roles but account and fp&a roles also. Which makes big 4 seniors less attractive to employers

Just think when was the last time u met an accountant that is local?
People go to big 4 hoping to use it as a stepping stone, but when u leave liao its filled with malaysians again. And their english like kena bang by lorry |
