Regarding the top London Uni & top Aus Uni, did you physically fly over there to read your degree?

Yes, I did. I was in Aus and London in person.

True to a certain extent but CS imposes quota levels for number of promotees... that limits the availability even more. And in CS, there is salary ceiling... so when all these factors are added in...

Deputy Director v. Assistant Director

Deputy Manager v. Assistant Manager

Aren't they synonymous? And yet, one is higher rank than the other. Confusing....

Assistant D/M < Deputy D/M
False titles in CS are common in order for rank & file to feel that they have been promoted. Just think of it as a vertical ladder... getting one rung up is suppose to be an accomplishment...

Job (ministry) is related to my qualifications. Female.

BA (double major) - top Australian Uni
PgradDip - another Australian Uni
MSc - top London Uni

Relevant working experience: 2 years and 9 months
Non-relevant working experience: 8 months
Internship: 6 months

Sorry but it is not common that they will inform you of your relevant and non-relevant working experience. Is this based on your own analysis?

Based on the details here, I suppose ard mid to high 3K. Masters should help to add 1 year increment if they recognize it and your relevant work experience would likely be taken at 50% value (1 year since loose months are not counted for salary but for future promo considerations).

curious..

are state counsels in the AGC on the MX scheme? Or another more atas scheme?

Male with NS, second upper/lower (results not out) from Aussie uni with local campus in Singapore (James Cook University; this means the degree exactly the same if I had gone over). One and a half year internship experience at A*STAR, offered place in the same lab. What's a reasonable expected remuneration range? Is $3300 too optimistic?

They do not belong to the generic MX scheme and there is a special scheme for them.

I think 3.3k sshould be possible as NS will be recognized. Don't think internship experience is counted though.

Hey thanks! Although I know internships usually gets you jobs but not determine the pay, I thought it may count because this one is at the same place where I am offered the position; this means the experience would be very relevant. Would appreciate if there are second opinions:)

i dunno now, but got 1 female cousin join A*star doing research in 2007 MAY, she got 2.6k starting only.

her stats;
1st class from Murdoch University...
no NS

but after 1 year with A*star her pay is corrected to about 3.3k...

I think her pay now is about about 3.8k to 4.2k range...

Australian degree is not that recognize after all in sg government, is consider 2nd tier degree after NTU/NUS/SMU
