pretty sure it is accurate. that guy is my coursemate and we graduated last year. the hr mistakenly told him the salary for female, that's why he know the salary for both male and female.

The diff between male n female is quite big? Isn't it supposed to be just 200?

Unregistered 14-04-2016 06:29 PM

Hi all, was wondering if anyone (preferably in Home Team) could enlighten me on the approximate salary range for a senior office in SCDF and the annual increments? Male with NS, 2nd lower. Unsure if this route is viable in the long run versus DXO scheme in terms of exit opportunities and professional development...

What do u mean by supposed to be? Supposed by who? Hearsay from your peers who probably ain't in civil service or those who have yet to enter the work force?

The difference can be as wide as 700+ for some professional schemes in the civil service.

99.9% certain u will get...

MX13 / MX12 / HTS13 / HTS12 (1 of these 4 grades)

pay wise im unsure so cant comment. the typical deg holder gets 15 months pay per year, inclusive of all bonuses.

Unregistered 16-04-2016 03:43 AM

correction: on avg, the typical deg holder gets 15 to 16 months pay per year, inclusive of all bonuses.

Slowly farming.

My gripe is that it is very hard to get two consecutive Bs. I got a B in 2014 due to additional taskings on my unit. Last year was a regen year, so ranking also drop a bit.

My PB for both years differ by $100+ though.

Unregistered 21-04-2016 04:44 PM

Are you scheme C?

from what I know abt the ranking in the force, if they wanted to promote u they would have given you an A. Usually those with the normal results dont move up much until they show they can take on higher responsibility. Which also translates to a good grade.

Unregistered 22-04-2016 11:48 PM

A little curious about the MX 13,12,... grades since I've never seen that in my letter of agreements before. It shows Management Executive Grade 1,2,3 etc (incremental instead of decreasing) in my LoA.

How does that rank against the MX system? I'm from a stat board.

salary revision

I see that civil sector starting salaries seem to be slowly rising across the years as they are pegged to market competitive rates. Does anyone know how would this affect the existing employees? Would their salaries be adjusted by a matching percentage too? TIA!

Unregistered 24-04-2016 03:50 AM

is it true that someone will better education such as first class or second upper local degree will have a better progression as compared to those distance learner degree?

For example someone with first class local u joined after grad.. 5 years later promoted to manager.. Another distance learner degree with 5 years experience joined as manager.. salary aside, in terms of progression would the local u have advantage? or its purely base on grade? is it true true that local u tend to have better grade?

Short ans yes. Ur cep (where u can potentially be when u r above age 50) is influenced by ur academic qualification. If ur cep is high. Naturally u will be promoted faster and more frequently than someone with low cep.

In theory, ur cep can Change over time depending on ur performance. But in practice, whether ur senior management will help u argue ur case or not is up to them Liao... Unless u r really high profile and done many work that wow ur Perm sec and ministers, I doubt it will happen.

Unregistered 24-04-2016 01:10 PM

so when we join, we will know the cep? cep depends on qualification? got difference between local u and distance learner? is it the same for stat board?

Funny how sinkies all want to hide in CS the moment economy is slowing.
This proves the Hamji and kiasu-ness of sinkies which is why we will never have a Steve jobs or elon musk.

Advice needed!

Hi all :)

Currently, MSF keep telling me they are pending some information before they can get back to me whether to provide me a verbal offer. I have already done the medical check-up, and there is no problems. It's been 1 month plus, and they still ask me to wait another 2 weeks.

Anyone got any idea, what info are they pending? why is the process taking so long?

Thanks =.=
Michelle
