My question is: How many years does it take to progress from MX13(I) to MX12?

if your position still in the Diploma MX then MX12 might take you 3-5 years...

if you got your degree and there are a post for a degree, then 2-3 years to MX12..

is also depends on your current salary to the next MX salary

MX13(i) if not wrong starts around 2.1k and MX12 usually start from $3k..

1. HR TA gave you a verbal offer and you accepted.
2. HR TA will likely send you an email to confirm the details or will start doing point 4 onwards before replying to you.
3. You replied the details if any
4. HR TA seeks approval to secure your position.
4.1 - Which account to pay your salary
4.2 - Your MX grade approval needs to be approved by a certain level (personnel board)
4.3 - Background and Security check, references check, etc, can take up to 1mth
4.4 - Who is your RO, buddy etc
4.5 - Confirm in an email your offers
5 - wait for you to accept...

in govt 4 weeks is not long..

1. For me, I applied in Mid August 2017
2. HR contacted me in mid Sept 2017 for interview in late Sept 2017
3. Interviewed late Sept 2017
4. no news till early Nov 2017, thought gone case...
5. early Nov 2017 called to verbal offer
6. mid-Nov 2017 official offer
7 late Dec 2017 join the ministry - was on contract so AWS & PB was received in Oct 2017 before i left the previous org :P

I'm concerned that post-covid my future employers will lowball based on the ministry's offer. I also tried to nego but HR was adamant that it's final.

your offer, if legit, is already damn high. Girls typically earn 3.3-3.5k on MX13 and after 2-3 years get promoted to MX12. Even so their salary would probably be 3.8-4.1k. Your offer is already way off the normal.

sorry to add that's for local university graduates. For SIM its 2k+ only

Just to clarify:
Fresh grad (MX13) = 3.3 - 3.5k
2-3 years (MX12) = 3.8 - 4.1k

Would you be able to advise salary progression after MX12? How many years on average to promote per rank?

OP here. It's legit, not so boliao to be trolling - but a bit uncalled for to be accused as a troll based on my academic qualifications without knowing the skillset that I bring to the team? Sad to know that I'm still primarily judged just by what school I grad from. Thought the civil sector and individuals would be more progressive compared to the 90s. But I am not here to pick a fight. Thanks for all the input.

it's much harder to get promoted after MX12.

MX12 to MX11 could take 2-5 years
MX11 to MX11A could take 2-5 years too

Graduates generally cap out their CEP at MX10.

Merit Increment is really just 100+ per year normally, and you get a little more when you're promoted ($200-300)

It's the civil service. Even folks with a 2nd lower from NUS/NTU/SMU get rejected...much less someone from a private university whose degree isnt recognised.
