Just got an offer at a poly for Mgr role (IPS8), on a local 2 year contract. Does anyone know if promotion is possible within the contract period, or only after getting permanent contract? TIA!!

Is it a 2 year contract that is strictly not renewable? Unlikely you can get a promotion within 2 years of a new job.

Oh, it’s a renewable contract. I read somewhere that it’s usually 2+2 years contract; does that mean no promotion for 4 years, until permanent is offered?

Just wanted to post a consolidation of all the paygrades. Hopefully no change. I just got an offer for grade 7E, which aligns with IPS7, so I am assuming should be correct. Btw from earlier posts in the thread, the increment seems to be very little (3%?) when nearer to the ceiling. Would like to check how easy it is to jump grade? For my case, IPS7 to IPS8 looks like a big jump since IPS8 are deputy director level? @.@
