Polytechnic environment

Anyone know generally, how's the work pace for polytechnic? Will be very fast pace and also high expectation for new hires? TIA!

Define fast pace and define high expectation.

RP has high turnover, SP has pretty low. The rest fall in between. But overall you won't get in without knowing people. Once you get in then moving around inside the system is easier.

Teaching is only 50%, as a full timer you will spend time doing strange things for the profile of the school. This is happening at all the poly and all the uni.

If you just want to teach, be adjunct lecturer. Adjunct lecturer all the more you need to network.

How many years of experience you have before your current rank? Or none?

No change. I started off as IPS6 this year. The band is still the same.

For degree grad. Is Ips5 the norm?

I am ips6 but is not a fresh grad when I joined.

How long is the progression like for Stat Board, e.g. from Deputy Manager to Manager, or Manager to Senior Manager? First promotion (for males) is it usually 2 years, similar to Civil Service?

unfortunately progression for people who can't do something as simple as posting things in the right thread is close to 0.
