There seems to be some serious disparity between what the news keeps reporting as well as the government budget to "save" jobs, vs the reality on the ground where no jobs have even been lost?

Yes I know of a few. But they're still working now serving their notice (handing over). Some were let go quite early (digital strategy in hospitality industry). Lawyers I know took cut in pay and working hours. Even some software firms got fired (automation anywhere)

the last interview i went to was in March just before the covid. Hiring froze for 3 mths and not much job posting during that period.

Resumed job hunting in july and no replies so far. also coming to 40 soon in a few years, can't help but feel this is the end. :(

Have you tried WSG's career matching services?
Can give it a go if you haven't..

Maybe can consider other industries.
But change industry, confirm pay cut.. :(
At least get a job first, then wait for the economy to improve first bah.
All the best wor.

I went for career coach for e2i in another location. Pretty useless. The guy didnt even know the job trends, never read my resume, just say without relevant experience how u expect to change job in different industry? Then ask me take courses. Ask me go their website and find relevant courses to take.

Then email me some videos to how to answer interview questions. Damn generic and not very useful.

PS: I have 2 job offers now in the digital industry which I wanted. Previously i have 1.5 yrs relevant experience & another 1.5 yrs not so relevant experience

Dont stop trying.. Ask someone help u with ur interview prep and answer.. I applied for 100+ jobs over 3 mths. Close to 10 interviews / tests & finally got 2 offers. Pretty demoralising process
