Your performance grade affects, but does not guarantee promotion.
Your CEP affects your promotion as well. There are officers who consistently do well at their subgrade but do not display the potential to take on a larger portfolio.

Are you given such opportunities? If you see consistently a B grader, do ask for opportunities to lead people or projects. Have a discussion with your RO or SLs on this.

All the best for your career and take good care of yourself.

Don't need to be sian. The wider picture ... Good for more officers to also get B as it is good for morale and the overall running of the school.

You got C+ instead of the "default C" very good already. After all, a promotion wins the extra bonus quanta.

How is everyone checking their PB for this year???

Could be CEP related. Nonetheless, you are making outstanding positive impact in your school. Keep up the good work.

Unregistered 16-03-2023 10:37 AM

PB aside, I was asked which track I'm more interested in and prefer, leadership or become a senior teacher. I told my RO, ST, but was told that the school feels that I'm better in leadership track. My friend, same school, on the other hand was not asked which track she prefers. Instead she was told she will be placed on the ST track, she actually wants the leadership track. My question is - what are the implications of being offered ST or leadership track? Thanx!

Still not reflected for mine. In fact my workpal doesn't show my latest payslip until a day salary is credited. Anyone encounter this also?

Unregistered 16-03-2023 11:21 AM

Unable to see PB records

Anyone else having issues seeing PB info in HRP?

Unregistered 16-03-2023 11:53 AM

Any kind soul can explain how the no of months of PB isdetermined? Noticed that there's a range even within the grade itself. E.g. 2.6 for grade B, is for those who are close to the top of grade B, reaching A?

Tiagong B grade itself have B-, B and B+ just like C lor. the statement just never reflect which range of B you are in at lah. I guess that is why we see people getting 2.25 and 2.6.

Unregistered 16-03-2023 12:25 PM

Think got glitch. Now login cannot see already.
Supposed to be out tomorrow anyway

The grade itself is B. But you are still ranked in a basket of teachers. Within B, there is top B and bottom B. Ministry gives school a fixed amount of money for the bonus and also a range to guide P in the distribution of the money. (Eg. B= 2.25-2.6) Some P will give everyone same quantum (eg 2.5) and return the remaining money to the ministry. But some Ps will want to utilise all the money given and then give the top B graders a bit more so the bottom B graders will get a bit lesser.

That’s how pb works.

Leadership track is more versatile.

Usually see HODs stepping down to become STs, but seldom see STs become HODs.

Progression-wise, leadership track has more room for advancement. At SEO level, you can be SH, HOD in academic and non-academic areas. There are more of such positions than ST roles, which are limited to your subject.
Can climb higher to director level in HQ, or to VP/P in schools.

Whereas ST roles are far more limited. At most become a staffer at one of the academies at AST.

Although on paper can change tracks, but it is not so easy as different tracks require building up of different portfolios.

Unregistered 16-03-2023 01:30 PM

Sorry should be 2.2

Unregistered 16-03-2023 02:15 PM

So far,

A: 3
B: 2.25 - 2.75
C+: 1.55 - 2
C: 1.5

Unregistered 16-03-2023 02:19 PM

Historically, this was the PB range for GEO:

A 2.8-3.5
B 2.25-2.75
C+ 1.55-2.2
C 1.25-1.5
C- 0.5-1
D 0

Seems to be still relevant today, based on data points shared thus far.

I Got an A with 3.4 this year
Last year B with 2.7

Unregistered 16-03-2023 05:43 PM

So now that PB statement is out, all the high performance teachers come out to boast about PB is it? We're taking a break from whining about how bad it is to be a teacher. Just goes to show that performance is recognised in MOE. Just that the good ones stay quiet so the whiny ones dominate the discourse.

That’s how pb works.

Which crazy sch will return money back to ministry? Teachers all slacking?

They will distribute it all, but some schools distribute it more evenly, whereas some differentiate their high and low tier of the same grade more.

For some ranking, they will also put the teachers in further "baskets", so that those in the same basket of the same grade will get the same quantum.
