I observed some of my bosses who became audit partners (ugly duckling that turned into a swan eventually) who is raking in $1mil per year easily, as compared to their peers outside who exited earlier making around $160k - $240k per year at finance director positions in MNC.

The difference in pay between audit partners and finance directors are way too big...

Audit partner enjoying $1mil every year shaking leg and playing golf with client while senior and staff have to OT everyday and work like slave because your audit partner purposely staff fewer people in the team to enjoy more profits for himself.

Song bo? Your audit partner will also bluff you that you will have a chance of becoming partner while making the requirements even more stringent and pwning you with SQP

Chartered accountant aka SQP is only important if you need to sign accounts. So if you do not aim to be partner, actually don't need it. Some people I know + myself actually stop paying the fees for CA after we left Big4.

Accreditation is a sneaky biz that preys on people's kiasuness
