Overpaying is disaster. Paying competitive is correct. Finding the right balance between paycheck, culture, learning opportunities is best.

Possible to hit 7K after 5 years?

Unregistered 06-09-2019 09:14 PM

1.5 to 2 years in shopee with 4k PM, jump to Grab for a potentially 6k~month role. 2 more years with yearly increment of 500 and you're at 7k.

Jump at 7th year start to FANG and look for your 8k to 10k starting, or go to the States for 200k USD gross before tax tc

Unregistered 10-09-2019 08:24 AM

Unregistered 02-10-2019 11:13 PM

Unregistered 05-10-2019 02:26 PM

I doubt there is a place for diploma with 7k. I will pay 3.5k at most.

Hey! I was offered 2.7k per month for the role, but I turned it down.

Not nasty but this is far below what they pay for local uni grads. I would shop around.

woah! only 2.7k? they are making loads of cash. Minimally at least 3k . Best to get around 3.3-3.5k if possible. Depending on the job role, I guess it can be higher like an IT role which I heard can be anywhere between 3.8k-4.5k.

Huh?

A company making loads means they have to pay u more? No lol u get paid what you can offer.

No experience fresh grad pay, 2.7k is reasonable. Work for a year or two then ask for 4k.

Its an operations role. How attractive you want the salary to be? For private uni, 3k max for that role sounds about right. Dont be deluded pls, company rich dosent mean they should instantly pay more than 3.5k for such roles

Do NOT take an unsatisfactory pay to go work at shopee. It is not known as a sweatshop without good reason. Make sure the pay works for you as you will be worked to the bone.

a simple question in your uni discord in "salary" channel will give you the same answer from people who actually work at these companies...

I'm not the above poster but 5-6k only base bro. Usually when people say 6 figs is base + bonus + stock.

Unregistered 27-10-2021 05:46 PM

In Shopee, local uni,

1st class, 5.5-6K
2nd upper 5K-5.5
2nd 4.5-5K,

after 5 years you can get 7K if you work hard. Don't ask how we are gonna pay, ask how much you can contribute to us. If you are talented and work hard (around 10-12hr daily), you will be prompted fast and get more.

kim1995 27-10-2021 06:11 PM

Shopee for fresh comp science grad is about 60k base with 15k annual bonus.

So TC is about 75k. You may get RSU and lower base or higher base and no RSU.

So it's a about 5k monthly. Also no there's no real pay difference for different unis or standings. Not that I know of. My NUS friends at shopee get paid the same as my SIT friends. Same team same role same pay.

Feel free to verify the info I provided with nodeflair, LC comp discussion and many more places. :) don't use glassdoor, their salary ranges are skewed by mid roles and intern pay.

Good luck! Also job hop after 2 years, then 1 year and repeat. Never stay at the same company for 5 years, that's silly.

Unless you get a RSU refresher, there's very little reasons to stay once you're fully vested or you've never gotten any RSU in the first place.

It's not that low, fresh grad devops at shopee getting 7.5K base already
