Hi Guys, got offered by ST Aeropace for permanent role. Just wanna ask something. The HR said that no AWS, but have Variable Bonus. And min average is 2 months and if good can be up to 4 months. Is it true?

And i read somewhere here that increment is only 2 digit number?

Pre covid got a salary package change. No more aws so the base looks higher. Variable bonus is not guaranteed.
Also during covid pay was frozen for 2 years. Why new people entitled to this kind of benefit while existing staff pay didn't even adjust 10% increment is so damn stupid.

My side we all anti new people. Don't help them. Let them drown. Since HR didn't adjust our pay to compensate us fairly. New people don't deserve our help. Let them quit lo. Our own job is secured.

When you join be prepared to experience this culture. Alot of push here push there. End up is new people do all the work. But it's justifiable since new people pay is higher.

Just to let you know it is "Variable" Bonus. HR can give you average figures but it is never guaranteed to give, not to say even 2 months to 4 months range.

In the end they give you 0.5 months you also cant say anything.

I recommend looking at your fixed package to determine if it is worth the offer.

Waah so scary ah for the new people. If you dunt mind, may i know ur side is doing what role ya?

Currently i am from mid-career change with coming to 1 year experience. They offer me ard 13% more salary with permanent role compare from my existing company. That is why was wondering without AWS and VB which is not guarantee and 2 digit increment. Is it worth to come over to ST.

My side the head very old school. His thinking is everyone deserve minimum 0.5 bonus.
So when you actually just get 1 month it's actually just 0.5

And yes during covid only got 1 month lol.
Now new people expect 4 months variable bonus ah. Lol.

Its called manage up le.
If you want to be promoted you need to everyday suck the boss cock le.
Not easy you know.

ST people don't manage down one la. Let the new people figure out.
Better to spend time to manage up.

Prpare progress update. PowerPoint slide. Create a problem so you can solve it and show the upper management. How you save cost. Everyday don't have to do work la. Just work during the monthly progress update. That's how you rank up.

If this kind of thing also need to teach you. You have no hope to survive here. The managers all have like 10 to 15 years of managing up. So they expect you to be like them...

Nobody cares about the new people at the bottom of the chain la.

Ya lo. Alot of old timers just wanna have a good working lim kopi work lifestyle.
Why wanna compete in the open market.

Lower pay never mind cause essentially everyday is paid to do nothing and the kopi in ST cheap. 80 cents only. Outside already 1.70

Ranking range from band 1(best), 2 and 3.
I got band 2, only 1.9 month bonus

What do you think???

(Potential) New hire must give salary adjustment compared to old place to convince him/her to jump over ma. The candidate can reject the offer, still got bargaining power.

Current employee, not happy you resign and look elsewhere lor. Can you?

No need. Just tekan the new hire and let him drown lo.
Then we take credit for the work when he managed to deliver and let him be the scapegoat when he fail.

East prasy. How you think I managed to get promoted to M2 without actually doing any engineering work. Just hold meeting. Smile. Agree politely with boss. Manipulate the staff under me.

M2 range should be around high end 6 to 8.

The range might be bigger as alot of people might be stuck in the rank for year

Unregistered 28-05-2022 08:13 PM

Haha

I think alot of people don't know there is old M2 and new M2.

New people joining with highersalary now.
So if you know someone who joined with M2 their pay is higher. As compared to those who been here for 0 plus years.

How u know? Cause I'm M2 and I interviewed my replacement the pay is higher. Thank god I am quitting to another company with a 25% increment.

So good luck have fun

Unregistered 30-05-2022 09:03 AM

Sadly ST cannot match outside salary even with pay revise or pay increment.
Heard someone E6 left, go to other company starting pay is more than $6.5K

You can’t expect this retirement company march outside

I was E5 when I left. My basic increased 10% and overall package increased 30%.

You are absolutely right, my 10% increment was barely matching the market pay. New grads in more prestigious companies would have higher pay than me.

Salaries for tech roles in S'pore set to rise, those with unique skills may be offered 'exorbitant' pay packages.

Soruce: s://.straitstimes.com/business/economy/salaries-for-technology-roles-in-singapore-set-to-climb-higher

Meanwhile ST still lowball employees and cannot even match outside increment and overl package.

The management will tell you they are electronics and engineering, not IT.
