2 years if performance is good, Band 2/Band 1 every year. If manager willing to push for your promotion 1 year also can.

I only got between 2.6-2.8 for engineer level, band 1. Is this normal?

Is ST Engineering really that bad for fresh grad?

good for fresh grad to learn, but bad if you stay more than 3 years, pay is quite stagnant and loses to the outside world because AWS is included in the base salary.

In ST its normal. Outside, u meet expectations only can get 2.75-3 months and that is literally meeting expectations literally lowest tier

Focusing on the learning part. I'm curious what is there to learn in ST for fresh grad?

Really depends on the team you join. The younger tech teams offers decent learning opportunities but that's really only a subset of the entire ST

You believe there is a difference when you don't really have competition? Slacker all the way, good life and retirement village.

Unregistered 03-04-2022 11:29 PM

If you're at higher level, of course it is good life

This is very optimistic. Usually 3 (if good performance) to 5 years or more. Also, note that recommended for promotion doesn't mean will get promoted. Still depends on the management decision.

If VP level 5.2 months, I think engineers should get 3 to 4 months. Unfortunate truth but it's unfair management gets so many months bonus but engineers earning measly salary at 1 to 2 months, a bit more if fortunate.

Not to forget laughable 1 to 2% increment.

Hard truth, even the current base salary cannot even match outside

It depends on which dept/proj you're working on... but yes, my advise to experienced hire is only join if you want to have a slower working pace... basically retirement farm.

For fresh grad, it's not a bad place to join and jump to somewhere else... Just don't stay more than 2 years if you want to keep up with your peers lol.

It takes 3-4yrs for one promo here, and the pay here is crap, the increment is crap, bonus is crap nowadays as well.

But if you were to turn it into income/hr it's actually quite ok. haha.

3.7k is literally below 50th percentile for fresh grads tho.. meaning u are paid lesser than median for fresh grads.

if really keen, would suggest you to take it up for awhile and then immediately job hop when possible, although i believe you would have to start climbing as a jr in most places.
