Does the cloud need a programming skill set?

you dont really need one in particular, whats more important are whether you are already familiar with fundamentals (things like networking, IAM, security, firewalls, DNS, NATs, ACLs so on and so forth) or whether you can reasonably pick these up as you go.

that said, 1)Bash is absolutely essential, 2)Python and JS are good to have

above all, you must be comfortable working and talking to computers (if you cant handle working in terminal/CLI, with purely a text based interface with the OS, you might want to rethink this position) otherwise you can provision all the ec2s you want but unless you can SSH into them and make them do stuff, you wont cut it. atb
