what is SOM? Sound of Music?

I think Govtech J are ADs and K are DDs, but i could be wrong. But overall Govtech in salary comparison, i do know that their salaries are higher when compared to MX equivalents.
Just a generic example, as there are AD/SAD at MX10, DD/SDD at MX9. Its a wide range. EG. Govtech J AD > MX11A AD EG. Govtech K DD > MX10 DD |

for govtech, you should compare with other SB. in general being in IT, you are always at the specialist scheme, hence your designation are usually towards the techy. A AD in Govtech is not equal to a AD or even a SAD in ministry. he or she is more senior than the designation reflect. I am in a IT division of a SB under MOT. over here, mx13 = assistant manager / engineer mx12 = assistant manager / engineer mx11 = deputy manager / senior engineer mx11A = deputy manager / manager / principle engineer mx10 lower = manager / senior manager / senior principle engineer mx10 upper = senior manager / DD / principle architect mx9 = DD / D yes mx10 can be just a manager or even a senior princple engineer designation here. But that does not mean he or she is a mx12 equivalence if he or she go to a ministry. last year my colleague Manager transfer to a ministry and hr matches his grade at SAD |
oh. sounds similar to private sector. i am from a local newspaper company (i guess you should know)
we have corporate title and functional title (printed on namecard). I am holding a Manager corporate title but designate as a "Infra Specialist" Someone who is in marketing division holding the same corporate tile is designate a "Assistant VP" A HR lady who is holding a Senior Executive corporate title is designate a "Manager" but i must admit it does make a different on how people treat and respond to your email. A lower grade and younger Manager from "user" division often thought that they are more senior than us. put it this way, a senior IT engineer (just like a Manager) who manage a system well can be as efficicent as a team of 5 people doing administrative stuff. How common is it for those in their 40s to be MX10 or higher? 50-50?

Can I ask how does the income bracket work? Assuming I start at mx 12 and the range is between 3 to 6k and in between w increment to about 3.6k. Upon promotion to 11a which is from 4.7 to 7k, how should the increment look like? Thanks!

May I know if contract employees e.g. (1 year, 2 year) in ministries/SB are entitled to any bonuses which the permanent employees usually get? How about benefits?

upon promotion your salary will falls within the new range. if you are currently drawing 3.6 and the next range starts at 4.7, it is unlikely you will be promoted this year (there are definitely exception though) |
