Well.. every job seeker has to go through that.

Some HR wont get back to you if you are not selected. If after a long while, nothing, look for other opportunities.

Head for the other interview then, no point waiting around for nothing. If you have the credentials and are the right fit, you'll find a poly you want I am sure.

I don't think it's significant lower. They are offering me only $200 more... anyway, i told the HR personnel that it's too low for me and I'm sorry that I'll have to reject. She said she will try to appeal to the HR director.

I'm guessing another 100 more, if it's approve. ($200 if lucky!)

26: Sep 2005 (Stat Board): $2700
27: Dec 2006 (Stat Board): $2900
28: Jul 2007 (Stat Board): $3250
28: Aug 2007 (Ministry): $3025 (MX13)
29: Apr 2008 (Ministry): $3500 (MX12) - x 3 month bonus
30: Apr 2009 (Ministry): $3650 (MX12) - x 3.5 month bonus (B grade)
31: Apr 2010 (Ministry): $4000 (MX12) - x 4.5 month bonus (B grade)
32: Apr 2011 (Ministry): $4500 (MX11) - x 4 months bonus (B grade) - so far

Despite being a normal pass degree holder, you can see that the Ministry gives me a better than average grading and I even got two promotions within 4 years. I seriously worked hard but I have the advantage of working in HQ and rubbing shoulders with my Director and DD. As long you work hard (and smart), bosses see your good work (not just own boss but those from other departments), then you'll do well. Obviously, can't fight scholars who can be a Dy Director at my age or earlier. I just aim to be in the middle management and be happy with the decent pay and good working hours.

Need to be realistic lah...

Not too bad wor. I wish I can be something like that too.

Right now, I have worked for 1 year in my ministry, MX12 at $3900 with B grade performance. Hopefully have a decent progression.

that's rather high for a first year MX12? Did u join as an MX13 or straight as MX12? How much was the promotion increment from 13 to 12?

Looks good. May I know if the bonuses include AWS?

I joined as a MX13 (It is my first job), was promoted to MX12 exactly on my first year. I think my raise was about $400? I can't really remember the exact number because I never bothered lolz. I am more of a "I like to do what I want to do" rather than for the money itself.

Right now, I am 1.5 years into the job. :) Very happy and satisfied with the type of work I am doing. I am quite sure that there are many people who earned way more than me. I get jealous a little at times but I realize I actually enjoy the work I am doing now. :D

Also thinking of jump ship to DSTA (Stat Board)

How much pay should I expect from them?
Annual salary should be how much?
Monthly basic should be how much?

Thank you

Hmm, not sure if hospitals as in restructured ones get 3-4 mths of PB. They are corporatised institutes like NUS & NTU. All I noe is if you are futher away from the parent ministry, the differences can be big. Furthermorre, they are run like private companies in certain sense.

Sounds more like you have 6 years of working experience only.

Whatever it is, you only graduated in 2003, so whatever you were doing before than, like frying burgers at Burger King doesn't count - it was work for non-graduates.

If you're a SIM graduate, you're at the mercy of those with better degrees, whether or not you're in the civil service or government. I would also imagine the insurance company pays better bonus than the hospitals.

Are you sure you know what's going on? Your story seems rather confused.

hi

Do you mean you are earning $4500/mth, if you are a senior engineer in DSTA ?

1. How many years of exp are you with DSTA?
2. Are you with DSTA since you fresh grad from university or otherwise jump ship from other company?
3. Are you male with NS or female?
4. Are you 2nd lower/upper/ or 1st class?
5. Do you mean if I jump ship to DSTA with 3.5 years of GLC exp, 2nd lower with NS, I can negotiate for my pay close to $4500?

Because you just stated:
~4500 monthly
16 months yearly

I suppose you mean you are getting this amt, but I am asking how much should I ask for if I jump ship to DSTA with 3.5 years of GLC exp, 2nd lower with NS, can I negotiate for my pay close to $4500?
