I did not clarify this with her but I believe it should be MX 13, Snr Exec as I am still a fresh grad.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Executive Manager and Senior Manager positions at URA? And what MX equivalent are each of them?

actually there was no choice in this incident i observe. management decided that this branch was going to merge with the ministry and all the staff either go or be let go. Some of their salaries were adjusted upwards, some downwards. Not surprising that some left shortly after joining ministry. It was weird that the ministry did not at least match the pay tho

anyone know mha grade 7 is equivalent to what mx grade?

Mx12 to Mx11 possible in 2 years ?

Hi I was brought over to a ministry via transfer from a stat board via mx12. They were initially trying to bring me over at 11 however my pay missed by less than 100 to cross over. The current scenario is that I was informed they would push me up within 2 years.

Am on contract and they have informed me looking at perm at the 1 year mark. Currently almost at ceiling at mx12. Does everything seem in order ?

If you don’t perform well and they decide they don’t want to keep you, they will let you be stuck at ceiling

If they want to keep you they will push you across the ceiling by promoting you to 11

The special circumstances of you joining is valid reason to push but by no means guarantee they will push. So do well, stay out of trouble so they wanna keep you and they will break tradition and push you up

Why 2 years? Yearly increment should be able to cover that

Unregistered 14-06-2023 10:36 AM

Is there title inflation at MSE for AD, or is their SE equivalent to managerial level

MSE is a small ministry and I see their job titles jump from SE to AD. Anyone knows how their titles match to job grades?

Movement from mx12 to Mx11 considered a promotion not simply an increment. Even though brought over near ceiling, need to justify promotion. I think they stated 2 years to be safe. Hope it can be done in 1 year of course ! I've been chionging from day 1

Totally not true.
I got C- in ministry because got fuk up bosses
Quit and joined a statboard...
now I am A grader for 3 years, lately also promoted to equivalent to MX11a

The route to break our of the vicious cycle is tough, but mentally I feel much better.

Hope you guys get your break through

Was offered slightly less than 5k at NEA as AM. Ard 1.5 working experience, 2.1 with NS. Is it acceptable?

More than acceptable given your 1.5 years of actual working experience. Most grads start off in such agencies at 3.5k and assuming even a modest increment of 5-10% within 1-2 years, that will put them max 3.9k.

Unregistered 16-06-2023 10:50 AM

LTA fresh graduate engineers already 4.3K with NS

Doubt it. Assume starting 3.8k for male with 2nd upper and above, your equivalent in service would be only around mid-high 4k.

Male with 2nd upper fresh grad here in starboard offered 4.5k so I believe 5k+ for 4 YOE is reasonable

Same male with 1.5 years of exp should then only expect maximum 5k. Anything more is way to high and unrealistic, good luck!

Unregistered 16-06-2023 07:25 PM

Actually, 6 months is not totally impossible. Assuming in a decent economic year for Singapore:

AWS: 1 mth, guaranteed
Mid-year bonus: 0-0.5 mth
End-year bonus: 0-1mth
Performance bonus: 2 (C grade) or 3 months (B grade)

So taken in all, a good performance in a good year can get about 5.5 mth bonuses in total. And this is only for the most common MX scheme. Some stat boards also have additional "allowances" for certain professions like engineers, economic stat boards have additional bonuses as well.

Unregistered 19-06-2023 12:21 AM

hi all, is there any difference between mx12b and 12?
and is it normal for 5yoe to be offered mx12b from sb to sb?

This post is inaccurate. C is only 1.25mth-1.5mths. B can be 2-3, but is exceedingly rare in any case.

1 (AWS) + 0.3 (MYB) + 0.5-1 (YEB) + 1.5 (C-Grade) would be the most common. That's around 3.3 months ordinarily (including AWS which is basically to pay for your tax.
