Many thanks for your POV. Public healthcare seems to have much lower basic pay but bonuses are attractive. I was just not sure if I’m getting a pay package lower than what any other people in SB with 3 year work experience just because HR will look at my current pay package to offer. (I hope I’m making sense).

Just a question if 2 year contract staff in SB is entitled to MI and PB?

Sounds like the same situation I was in many years ago, from healthcare to SB. Bo bian you started off in a industry that doesn’t offer high starting pay. So now gotta play catch-up if you do move.

Something to think about: At current rate in healthcare, how long would it take to hit 4k?

Hi all,

By any chance does anyone know the pay scale of audit officers in the AGO (Auditor General Office)? I am considering the organization as a career option.

Thanks.

Mas

MAS generally pays higher than ministry for the same grade. 20% annual pay increase from ministry when I switched

Firstly, there are the Big Four firms in Singapore are not called "magic circle" firms. That sounds ridiculous in the local context and is a term applied only to specific City firms in the UK.

Secondly, your claim that JLCs typically end up making junior partner at most in the private sector is complete and utter rubbish. Whether you're JLC or not, and whether or not you're first class, has no bearing on whether you make equity or senior partner. It's about your performance and how much rain you can bring in for the firm.

Thirdly, JLCs are certainly not handicapped in any way when they enter the private sector. On the contrary, JLCs are in huge demand because they know the ins and outs of the courtroom and the justices' chambers. They help draft judgments for High Court. Private firms can't wait to poach them when they finish their JLC terms, often with higher salary than for their peers. Many of them do stay in the judiciary by choice with the aim of becoming judges, not because they can't get other jobs (LOL)

yeah yeah, you can continue to cheat yourself about your imagined superiority as a JLC going into private sector. you have completely zero awareness of how differently the private sector (more lucrative) operates from the public sector. don't even wanna waste energy educating someone as completely lost as you are

Does anyone knows what is the clearance for LTA about? It has been more than 3 weeks and it is still not cleared. HR told me they can’t give me an offer until there is clearance.
