Singtel Management Associate Program 2015

Hi Guys,

Just thought i'll start up the thread for the Singtel Management Associate Program 2015.
There are a number of streams available for grads and it looks like a quite well structured program.

Anyone has any idea of the work culture, remuneration etc or just some general feedback on this program.

Good luck applying!

singtel MA program is just a nicer name for fresh grad exec. if u look at the people they hire every year, mostly left overs who cannot get a job in banks / big MNCs.

even for GLCs good freshie will prefer more progressive ones like capitaland, sia, keppel etc

I disagree. Singtel MAs are given challenging tasks to do, and you start off as a manager grade. Ive known several smart and high flying people that started off as Singtel MAS

Hey if you don't know anything please don't try and BS others. Singtel MAs start off at E5 for bachelors and E6 for masters/bachelors with exp. Sometimes they are officially listed as "S" or "G" which is equivalent to E5/6.

When they finish the program, they get their M1 grade and for customer fronting positions are sometimes given a inflated business title of a manager.

The first manager grade is M4 (where you get the manager benefits, allowance & shares), MAs start off at least 4 grades below managers, what rubbish talking you?

The pertinent question to ask is what is the salary progression after 5, 10 and 15 years?

In banks and MNCs for above average performers it should be $100K (manager) after 5 years, $200K (senior manager or VP) after 10 years, and $300K (director or senior VP) after 15 years.

According to government figures: http://www.salary.sg/2014/benchmark-...e-gender-2014/ To get $200k with just 10 years exp, you are considered the top 2.9% of the cohot - this is confirm not just "above average performance" needed.

Even in top paying global banks or oil&gas supramajors, the number of people who can hit $200k within 10 years remains a distinct minority.

New joiners into the workforce fresh from school need to be realistic about their benchmarks and stop daydreaming about instant riches all the time.

What is the salary range like for each of these GLC grades? If I'm not wrong, a manager of M4 grade is within the 5-figures range, making it unlikely that any MA programme (IB and sales & trading programmes aside) such a position regardless of the MNC/large bank. I too heard that SingTel MAs start off at M1 grade.

M1 is not a managerial grade, granted sometimes people are granted impressive business titles, but you need to reach M4 to enjoy all the manager allowance, benefit and shares.

I think much of the confusion comes because a lot of GLCs give their M1 grade junior staff nice titles like XX Manager causing a lot of misunderstanding.

I think they are waiting for others to complete their online assessment as I only received my online assessment last week. So far I have not heard anyone reaches the video interview stage yet.

Are you sure you work in SingTel? I suggest you take a look outside your BU and open your eyes wide.

Unregistered 21-10-2014 02:13 PM

A rumour spread by SingTel's HR to attract talent.

It IS possible if you get top rating every year for 5 years, which no one gets unless you are white horse.

Most MAP take 8-9 years to make Director. Associate Director doesn't count - fancy title but salary doesn't match.

Singtel's Management Associate Program is on par if not better in terms of pay & prospect than those offered by investment banks or oil majors in Singapore context.

Plzzz... are you from singtel HR trying to post moronic BS to psycho young & inexperienced grads to meet recruitment target?

Singtel MAP pay better than JPM or Goldman Sachs or Shell or Exxon MAP? Looks like all those elite ivy-league oxbridge masters grad must be so stuupid to join them when they can have better pay & future with singtel...

Unregistered 23-01-2015 07:32 PM

Once and for all.. does anyone have a credible source of information on Singtel's MAP pay?

Unregistered 24-01-2015 02:18 PM

Why don't you just apply and get an offer first? Does it mean that you are only going to apply if the salary is above xxx? Stupid question.

I don't intend to apply for the position. Also, I don't see how it is a stupid question, for the following reasons:
1) I'm just curious. Just like how some people are interested to know the salary of the President of Singapore.
2) For the benefit of other users, who would potentially want to apply to the position.
3) In the situation that I intend to apply, having a gauge of the salary would enable me to better rank my preferred jobs and thus allowing me to better allocate my effort in terms of preparation for the interviews.

4k.

4k a month. Good luck

Unregistered 25-01-2015 09:52 AM

According to Glassdoor (based on 3 reviews), it's $3.5k per month.

batch mate got $3.4k to start... but he heard one of the prettier girls was offered $3.6k to start.

believe should be the case with most companies, hiring manager has a discretionary +10% adjustment to salary. if you are a girl with big tits and firm butt you'd probably get $4k. if you're a guy, probably $3.4k.

this information was accurate (as accurate as hearsay can be) from Mar 2014.

Marketing side can get 4.7k
