What will happen if I am suddenly diagnosed with a health problem (which I am not aware of) during the medical check up? Will I get rejected as a result?

as long as your health problem doesn't affect your ability to perform the job, you should be fine |
Shortlisted
Hi, all. If the applicant in C@G shows shortlisted and the JD shows that they will contact you without 2 weeks of being shortlisted but the automated email states 8 weeks
Which do I take as an accurate “wait period” for them to contact me? Cause I do have a pending offer of 6 months from another stat board but this “Shortlisted” status has passed the 2 weeks mark. Doesn’t it mean no chance for the shortlisting Liao? Since it has already passed the 2 weeks mark, and I’m probably on the 4th week after they close the application. |

If only just applied, sometimes they will just ignore your initial application, and wait until very long to receive the rejection email from system |

Means, after 2 - 8 weeks is considered as rejected liao? |

Does any one know by currently having public service experience will help to secure another relevant role in another ministry or statboard more easily?
Do HR take in consideration of this? |

Slower HR processing
In view of the current COVID19 situation, is it that non #SGUnited jobs are actually taking slightly longer to be processed?
|
strange, some job openings with closing date of one year or more, meaning no urgency or only checking market response?

HR Timeline
Hello I'm new to applying directly through the C@G. Since I've always applied through recruitment agency which takes about two weeks from application to interview and to start date. But that depends also the stateboard or ministry in question and also the urgency to fill up the role as mentioned in this thread.
But I digress, most recently I have applied a role in a SB through my careerfuture portal. I applied around late May 2020. The role is tagged under SGUNITED. Was contacted for interview in early June. Interview was last Wed, 10 June. During the interview, was told that the hiring process could take up 3-4 weeks and that HR would give me a response by end of next week. To my surprise, I received a response on last Friday, 12 June, saying that they decided to proceed with me and gave me a verbal offer and I accepted. They also said that they will be doing up the paperwork. As of now, I have not received any updates. I've checked on C@G to see if a similar position is there from the SB and also on mycareersfuture portal but there are none. Currently also there are other offers I received from other employers and needs my response. But I'm very keen on this SB. I'll request an update from HR shortly. Meanwhile, by this stage, do you think the SB would have seriously considered me and wont offer to other candidate? (I understand that many of you said it's only when I have signed the actual contract then its final). And given the timeline of my interview and now, do you think it's too soon to request an update? Thanks! |

Everyone should minimally exhibit “Good” performance in the two. Commander or not, if either one of them is just “Satisfactory” or worse “Unsatisfactory” or “Non-Assessable”, it’ll set some red flags to your hiring manager. |
Actually do you all write a thank you email after the interview? Isit a norm?

I wrote individualized thank-you letters to EMA after my interview, to each and every one of my interviewers. Not a single reply. And I didn't get the job. Similarly, I wrote thank-you letters to CPFB after my interview, and I got a very generic reply. I didn't get the job. I wrote thank-you letters to a stat board under MOE recently after my interview, and their replies were so heartwarming. I got the job. |
Working Culture at SEAB.
Hi all, do you guys have any idea how is the working culture like at SEAB?
I am not talking about the invigilator/examiner roles, but more of the corporate functions like HR, corporate planning, etc. Been trying to find info but glassdoor doesn't even have a page for the stat board. |

usually, quite rare for CS/SB to rescind a verbal offer because they likely have gone through the rounds of approval and started the process of your paperwork, so if they rescind they'll have to do more paperwork to justify. |
Sincerely wish those who needs a job, will get a job soon. I myself have been out of employment for quite sometime, have had interviews with Min, SB and private sector for the past weeks. Hopefully will get a response soon, just have to stay positive, because we will get through this together as its temporary. At least thats what I told myself. 💪

UPDATE: I emailed asking for a timeframe by which I can look forward to signing the contract and starting date. The HR said that they are in the midst of seeking required approval and will get back to me by end of next week. They also said they are flexible in the start date. Does this reply means that I already got the job and now just waiting for procedural sake such as getting approval etc., to sign the contract? Also, as getting approval could take longer than expected, there is another part-time offer that I'm keen to take up before I sign this SB full-time contract. Since that part-time job is flexible and work in the weekends, do I have to resign from it once I take up the SB offer? Because I heard and know that Civil Servants are not allowed to moonlight. But then I understand that working in SB, means you are a public servant. So are public servants also not sparred from moonlighting? |
Job Application Status
Hello! Would like to hear your opinions/advice on this:
Applied for MSF roles – CWO (5 April) and CPO (10 March) – and both statuses changed to "in process" and "shortlisted" respectively. For the shortlisted position (CPO), I've completed the written test (8 May) and the interview (20 May). During the interview, I learned that there will not be another round of interview and that my results would be known 2-3 weeks after the interview. Fast forward to 2nd week (~4 June) after the interview, CWO status was changed to "unsuccessful" while CPS role remained "shortlisted". My friend said that usually rejections are sent out earlier than acceptance. But...I'm not sure. Should I be worried..........? :-( |

Okay nvm........I didn't get selected for the CPO role :-( They did offer me a traineeship instead, should I take it? |
