Been around 3 weeks since the medical. No update yet. I applying for customs junior officer role.

Think twice before joining.

Did you manage to speak to any friends who are in there?

If not please do so to find out the situation there.

Hi, I am just wondering if I could apply for a degree position while I’m concurrently pursuing part time studies at a local uni? Etc around early 2023 with decent grades. Also, would they consider uni scholars as opposed to those sponsored by ministries / SBs?

I am in my early thirties with 12 yoe but have been in a stat board for about 2.5 years. I feel the current place kinda impeding my progression.

LOL no.

You will be treated as a diploma candidate. But what are you work experiences? Related to job?

Harsh but CS is like that.

Btw don't reveal you're doing a PT degree also. It can decrease your chances of getting a job, private or public.

So if they say they want to do ref check after all the interviews are completed, you can sound out your supervisor to give them a heads-up~

Fun fact. Don't say you're too stressed by your current role. Say something like you want a more grounded job because you're looking to start a family.

Have been in the private sector and not related to the current job. I wondered what’s the irony of upgrading than if we can’t disclose the status of the degree?

Employers are not your parents. They are interested in your output. if they feel for any reason they cannot squeeze 110% out of you you won't even get a foot in the door.

Thank you for the affirming words. I was also advised by a senior of the change in directives regards to this. Hopefully, I am able to secure a position else where in due time. 😀
