Stop overthinking and being so paranoid. It’s not going to give you a peace of mind. Go email and follow up with the relevant person to get the update you’re dying to get. Don’t need to
overthink to this extent. If not just assume the worst scenario you’re rejected and move on with job search.

Just ask and you will know the answer. Its also possible that they will not reply

whats up with all the pussies here afraid to email HR??? You guys really dont know how to be more tenacious. Let me put it out here, if you've been to an interview, it is your right to find out from HR your application process. Just drop an email to nudge gently, "Hi xx, it's been a few days/weeks since the last interview, may i kindly check when can i expect to hear back on my application process? thanks." This is very common among public service applicants on account of the long hiring process and waiting time.

If you all cant even have the balls to do simple things like honestly as an employer i wouldnt even want you lol

am from stat board and chatted with my HR about this, it's not "slowing/freezing". They are still taking in applications as per normal just that they'll need to conduct interviews through telecomms. Also, almost everyone in PS (except the really essential ones) is working from home so not sure if that will slow things down in terms of scheduling la but yeah just continue applying.

1 month waiting is normal, because after application deadline they also need time to collate and select candidates. Ministries are even worse, they take waaaay longer (MHA for example)

Just want to share my timeline for those who got impatient with a one month wait.

*Ministry*
March 2019 - First interview. Went well, told to expect second interview
April 2019 - Second interview, yes one month later

Subsequently, I emailed HR every month for the status. The general impression I get is that I'm one of the shortlisted candidated

July 2019 - Yes, 3 months later, verbal confirmation and health screening
August 2019 - Signing at Vital and officially employed.

Yes, the process does take up to 6 months. Don't be too worried about emailing HR, ask them about your chances of being hired. If its favorable, keep waiting.
