Is anyone questioning why our polling day is held on teachers day? Not only does this mean that many teachers might be overseas, it also means that families might be out of town. This also affects celebrations since many officials have to set up on Thursday itself. Did no one think this through carefully or did they just not care about teachers?

Pretty sure most teachers are 10k. Most of them drive

Anything is affordable if you stretch out loans.

Being a teacher doesn't mean spouses are also teachers. Being able to buy expensive cars doesn't teachers are well paid. Can be because they have rich spouse, rich family, or spouse who makes more than them.

There are more teachers who take public transport than those who drive. Just count the number of cars parked in the school, and compare with the total number of teachers in the school.

It's ok. Just go and enjoy your much deserved holidays.

If you have already booked your holidays, then got valid reason to siam election duty. Not that the election makes a difference anyway. We all know who would win.

Let the ELD top management answer for it if they cannot find enough staff to man the polling stations. Let civil servants from other ministries get activated for election duty.

What criteria does it take to be selected for a HQ role - mainly the interview? Is a high CEP/ LP (ie. non-P8/ GEO5) a must? How about the Perf grades for the past few years - must have B or A?

It’s a valid question. Lots of citizens might be away as it is a supposed school holiday.

Don’t be a hater just for the sake of it. Clearly reflects your lack of ability to think of the bigger picture.

Relief

Does anyone know if a teacher resigns as a geo3 and takes adhoc relief in MOE on a needs basis (not fajt), how much will ex officer be compensated for a full teaching day? I know untrained uni graduates get paid 100 bucks on a full day.

lazy means lazy, dont give excuses. its a baseline expectation to do all the saikang thats asked for you. class cannot manage. work also cannot manage. poor attitudes and asking for more, you should not be paid.

The bulk of civil service consists of staff from MOE. If there is a PE, it just shows how out of touch the top is from the perceived bottom.

Come on la, stop thinking of things just from your POV. There aren’t many days to hold the PE. The Civil Service will manage. If u are a real teacher, I urge u to stand with your employer and work wholeheartedly to serve the people of Singapore.

Stop all these pointless comments just because you BELIEVE comments here are anonymous.
