I don't think he is negative about it. More dl or flabbergasted. Who gets negative / stressed during notice period. The worst is that the remaining team suffers, not him. He has nothing to prove too anyway

In any case, this is his last period of feeling bitter(sweet) about the big4 culture. He will have a good laugh with your ex big 4 colleagues about how ridiculously dumb the culture is even after leaving for many years

Why are there so few deal advisory partners compared to assurance?

Take this as a challenge to do ur best and show them audit is ez and u can do better than their expectation. Most importantly show them they cant find good quality staff like u.

And im not senior level. Just mid lvl with 3 months notice for my new job. If you are good a lot of place always welcome u with better package than b4. Dont let b4 junk quality affect your life. Not all are good over there.

Audit is ez is only partially true. For sure it is almost brain dead and rote. So easy in that sense. But the amount of saikang and poor working conditions is the challenge. Even a genius and most brilliant person can sink under the terrible conditions that audit juniors hv to face.

So yes, superiors will always find ways to screw you using poor treatment. The best OP can do is to survive and not leave with a black mark.

In SG, assurance and tax are still the bread and butter that allow big4 to have scale. The advisory biz p&l may not be very large. Potentially losing money too

If you've seen Big4 reports published, advisory is the segment that is promising, growing quickly, and is an area of focus for the Big4s over the past few years. Whereas in audit, fees are always a race to the bottom and talent quality is also deteriorating. Things will look different in the years to come.

I think its got to do with the company structure. Audit is under LLP while tax/advisory is under Pte Ltd. Most tax and advisory partners are welcomed into the partnership with the approval of audit partners.
