Also, it boils down to the fact that ACCA programmes contents are pretty much what u have learnt in local uni. No point spending more money to get a cert that copy and paste your grad certificate right

On contrary multimedia Tekong Ali uni degree are not recognised for exemptions in other professional accountant programme. Thus for their case ACCA is the best way to go

Since only big 4 wants them most of the time a ACCA should be good enuf . If u envision yourself to join US MNC I strongly don’t recommend u taking that

Thanks for the insight! I know managers from my firm who jumped out a few years back while I was still A1. Recently I found out that over the past few year, their pay never changed much. It's like after jumping to commercial as an S2 (say the designation in commercial is either AM or M), the salary tends to stagnate already and promotion is slow. Within big4, no point planning since everything is the same from progression to pay. Even if you have a good rating, it is a difference of 0.5 month bonus. In fact, you rather not be too good in your work. Good = do more at same pay.

A job in Big4 is commoditized. Outside will be different and that affects your career trajectory.
