Correct me if wrong.. I read that ISCA is run by the council who are elected individuals. If you are an eligible member, you can also stand for election by collecting nomination papers and asking your peers / supporters to vote for you.

Only need 5 other CA to support your nomination.

It’s not like this is General Election where there are limited credible politicians. This one anyone can go run with enough passion and support.

S1/s2 is the best time to leave.

Nowadays you’ll be lucky if they even stay the full 3 years.

Nowadays we don’t have many local seniors

The entire accounting supply for the industry also sibei jialat

each CFO role has 150+ applicants in jobstreet

U can look at medicine and law roles in mycareersfuture & jobstreet, virtually zero applicants

There is no job stability knowing you can be replaced anytime

Company lucky draw also higher chance to get CFO role

As doctor, you have nurses and pharmacists to help your scope of work

As lawyer, you have paralegals to assist you

Apart from low starting pay and long working hours, ISCA seriously need to look into big 4 hiring. EY is just hiring all these chapalang msian uni grads who worked in msia big 4 as M1 positions. Previously they hired them from A2-S2 levels which are fine since they need the numbers.

These ppl who are airdropped straight into M1 position are just straight up bad, can’t handle timelines and not even familiar with EY gam. Anything that goes wrong, they just blame the seniors who have been working there longer than them. Not sure if it’s just this particular dept or the whole of EY.
