Horrible, personally stayed until 11pm-2am (typing this at 12am in cab) in office but I’ve seen teams OT till 6am or overnight in office. On the website I’m booked for 1 job but in reality I’m doing 3. Had multiple nosebleeds.

Both really, I spend a lot of time attending useless meetings with no conclusions especially with those first year managers that want to change the world

No, I think it’s harder to find jobs outside audit as you progress. Who wants to pay $7-8k for someone who can’t even prepare full set of accounts?

Completed my CA, time to leave!

No, my bf is in an equally OT-intensive job

No, my office is flooded with Malaysians and Mainland Chinese who are willing to do the work. Only 2 Singaporeans in my team of 12. I speak chinese with them mostly since I cannot understand their english

Which b4 is this? Was wondering if Orange has a better wlb for audit.

Now still like this? I thought peak is going to be over soon?

Yeah, for some clients the peak can reach until May - June. That's why people always say no offpeak.

Let me put it this way: This thread has been around since 2011 and every so often people come in to complain their teams are under staffed.

But the world doesn’t stop and it’s now 2024. Life goes on, some projects may have been delayed but all were eventually completed.

We are not special. By 2035 the problems you are complaining about will become irrelevant as you move on with life.

Yup that’s true. I was fully booked until end of October this year with no breaks in between. Was encouraged by the department to start to plan and apply leave as soon as possible. Guess what? When I did that, I was told to reschedule my plans cus I’m already booked for the job and due to manpower constraint they cannot find someone else to take over. Funnily, I saw many of those underperformer getting free slots from as early as end May onwards. So what the heck are they talking seriously about the lack of manpower? Lol. So in the end, I quit lo.

Same, I'm not allowed to take leave since November until Aug. Sep YE, Dec YE, delayed Dec YE, Jun YE. No wonder everyone ran before peak.

It's more of managers not wanting to book lousy people so good people get overbooked and leave when they crack haha

**** this stupid ****, obviously the leadership suck if people have to work 3-6 jobs at the same time while being booked on a main job that takes up 10 hours not including lunch.

Same, bruh. This is the Yallow norm. U can only take leave when they don’t need u on the jobs or when u manage to squeeze somewhere in between the gaps of the engagement bookings. If fully booked, u can only try negotiating with your manager to approve ur leave on their engagements.
