I won't exactly call it insane, as I think I'm one of the lower earners in my industry. But maybe for private uni grad, and compared to whatever median salary statistics the media comes up from time to time, I'd say it's decent.

Transitioned to buy-side in 2020, now more corp dev / strategy role, both at the analyst level, thus doing more of the grunt work of analysis and modelling.

It seems like everyone is able to get 15% increment annually and between 20-50% increment when job hopping. Is this like the norm? My average increment is barely 3-4 % annually >15 years, and getting salary cut when switching jobs.
