Would anyone in this insurance brokering industry mind sharing some insights? Thanks!
|
Google Marsh and you will know they are amongst the largest companies around.
Try to get into the reinsurance team instead of the local retail team. Good career. |

If yes, how long after the final interview? |
Is this an insurance management associate program (IMAP)?

Is this an IMAP? Any idea?
|
i think it is
|
Yes, this sounds like an IMAP (i knew someone who worked there). She's now a broker.
Might as well do the consulting/investment roles in Marsh. Will be more prestigious. |

The IMAP is only for general insurance.
I dont know about Marsh, but I know for Aon, a similar company, the pay starts out from 3.3k for the first year, and I imagine at the end of 2 years it will be 4k+. But there is only usually 1 headcount in Marsh. The general side is smaller. But it's also better as 1)they get to go on a trip to UK 2)the ACII is slightly more relevant to the general insurance industry. |
Anyone knows what kind of rotations(what kind of business unit etc) the Marsh program has?
|
Are there yearly salary increments for graduate associate within the 2 years?
|
Anyone received an offer recently?
|
Quote:
They did not disclose the type of rotations, but its mostly what kind of broking you're assigned to |
i got offered and will be joining. not my first choice but i got rejected from all banks so...

Brokers with good experience are in demand, give yourself a few years, the next career jump is quite substantial. Important to build your network and relationships during that time. |
congrats to those who got accepted!!
just received an email from Marsh: Thank you for your interest in the position of Marsh Graduate Development Program As a result of the global impact of COVID-19, we are pausing recruitment for the role you expressed interest in. We want to ensure the global health crisis we are currently experiencing stabilizes before we resume recruitment for this role. We appreciate the time you took to explore opportunities within the organization and hope you will continue to view Marsh and McLennan as a future employer. gg I guess I didn't make the cut eh :( |

This industry is very manual so skip if you are looking for technology or efficiency.
This industry is generally shunned and misunderstood by locals so skip if you have problem getting along with foreigners or easily embarrassed if mistaken for an insurance agent. This industry is not known to make people rich and this company is known to pay peanuts. Please skip if you are looking for money. This industry has almost zero glamour and swagger. Nobody will be impressed by your job. Skip if you are looking to work in a glam environment. |
