How about the salary and progression beyond the first two years?

Interested to know too

Unregistered 30-05-2020 03:04 PM

High 3/low 4

Unregistered 31-05-2020 12:22 PM

Low 4 after 3 years? How long to reach 5?

Unregistered 31-05-2020 04:22 PM

increment if u get 3% per annum consider very good alr. Depend on which team u eventually land, the bonus could be substantial and it really varies. some gets 1 or 2 some can get up to 10 or more. At the end of the day, its how much value u are bringing to the corp... But dont dream alot during ur bond period and you need to manage your expectation low, dont compare with your peers.

Unregistered 01-06-2020 12:37 PM

10 months? Sure or not? Which team?

Unregistered 01-06-2020 01:00 PM

For those who broke the bond, how much was the approximate amount that you had to pay? Does the bond value decrease the further you are into the bond period?

Unregistered 01-06-2020 01:16 PM

Yes. Basic is not much difference while you are bonded. Don't really expect much growth during this period. Bonus varies depends on your performance. I have seen as high as 12 months.

After your bond ends, that is when you face your biggest jump. If you're good, you will be approach by headhunters and there are cases where your basic can jump from 4k to 8-10k. I know a few people getting 15-20k basic while just being in the industry for about 5 years.

It really depends on how much effort you wanna put in. If you want to go back home at 6 everyday, then don't expect much. The ones that always complain about their basic being low is usually this same group of people.

Unregistered 01-06-2020 01:53 PM

Which team is good? Should I strongly express my interest?

It's alot of networking. If you are an airhead, word gets around. You can forget about your next jump ship.
Regardless you are in broking firm or underwriting firm.

If you're good, Chances are firms will sought after you.

There is more than just being a broker or underwriter. There are demand for Cat model specialist, risk engineering, client service advisors as well as claims experts. Forensics accounting too. All these make up the insurance world. But of cos, you need to learn the basics.

Why not ask the firms - its hiring mgrs and staff - ask them what they do and why they continue doing for so many years. The key is also asking who they deal with.

If you get sick of the role, you may even move to client and be their risk mgr - tekkan both brokers and underwriters.

Unregistered 01-06-2020 07:55 PM

nowadays the starting pay in marsh more than enough to drink coffee from exchange everyday and sign up for gym or yoga membership.

Hi, I got offered and they are offering 4.5k which I find below expectations. Anyone received offer too and knows it its negotiable? Have stalled the HR and telling them I need more time to decide.

I don’t get you. Yet you complain earlier that 4.5K is below your expectation? Anyway, you have relevant degree or experience?

Below my expectation for a fresh graduate salary in general. Yes, startled that they are offering above what is typical for Marsh imap (perhaps got to do several factors in play such as luck).

Just a typical biz degree holder

Marsh definitely does not pay $4.5k monthly. Goodguydan blog has the figures for different MA programs. In there, Marsh is recorded as paying 3.3k to 3.5k for their MA program.
