Your RO told you? What is the reason given for not renewing?

Good grief! Grow up already 🙄

I think the CE and DCE should at least help those that about to get "cut off" to find new jobs from other gov agencies or ministries. As a leader, especially in the gov sector, you should be more empathetic. Why not create more digital initiatives and beg MOF that these valuable employees are needed? Isit because you do not have bargaining power since you made a stupid decision to hire Indeed without any actual project needs and it got backfire?

Actually, I think its because of the Indeed case that got MOF's notice and they decided to dig into GT headcount. The Indeed introductory email from SS was only in July this year, no sign of slowing down hiring. And GT has grown to 4k+? Why it wasn't tracked?

No reason for CE and DCE to do that.

Actually why there's contract folks is because some of them not too skilled. Why I said this because I have ex kolik who had been offered direct contracts only cause he's quite cmi

And I got offered perm lol

Not to brag...

There was intro email from DCE? For gds only is it?

I heard GDS folks are unhappy so they have some town hall and DCE addressed it somehow

I doubt he addressed anything. It is quite clear that he is here to use gov money to build his toys and profile himself by writing books. I heard he took a strategic mc during one of these sessions .
After creating so much ****,he is keeping quiet now. Such a good life. No real work but damn well paid.

Ex-Govtechie from GDS here.

So glad i made a choice and leave during the pandemic era despite the security.

That time every other tom dick and harry can also join, and why more headcount are required is due to artificial problems created by itself.

Before you actually start building something, you need to write many papers/ppts etc to even kick-start anything. It's a far cry from the early 2016 days where a lot initiatives is more ground-ups, and sadly its becoming more top-downs.

Govtech GDS is not really a bad place, nice people that i call them as friends, but seems like it have lost it way lately.

Are you from HR?

It's a comfortable place, and i guess the stage is too small for me to shine. I am much happier, and busier right now, and working on an actual product company, not like some people masquerading as Product Managers in GDS :)

CE and DCE just started their position so can't say much yet.

I think they do post actively on LinkedIn so still in the process of upskilling

One achievement or rather kpi is to cost savings by not renewing contractor...

Unregistered 03-11-2023 01:02 PM

Just joined at grade h under direct contact with govtech in June 2023. Am I afffected in renewal?

Well not so capable ppl can't stay in govtech. High caliber folks and ppl always think govt is iron rice bowl.

True to a certain extend but can't keep going on like this

Htx is I heard not bad overall.

I mean every agency got good and bad, ppl will complain la

Worth a try lo. They also hire govtechie but cant poach directly ..

Unregistered 04-11-2023 02:49 PM

But I also been reading, they haven't had pay adjustment or incremental for some time now

So this year had some changes and ppl were so so in reactions

Unregistered 04-11-2023 02:50 PM

Civil service should have another round of wage adjustment in 2024. After all, GST is going up in 2024 and prices have gone up so much in 2023. mdr adjustment is a real joke.
