Thanks greatly!

You sure know alot, do you work in ncs?

Is there an application form to be filled at the recep or he just need to bring a copy of resume will do?

How is the dressing mode like in NCS? Casual? Jeans allow?

Is a 5 days week right? What is the official working hours? (9-5)?

Thanks thanks!

Why dun u just ask the hr when ur there? Mgr in NCS is equal to a snr exec in Singtel, I'm sure they will just answer you honestly since no confidentiality for lower level position

NCS is worst than working in a small local firm. Some managers there love to outsource. It seems that it is easy to outsource than to use it's own worker. If you are someone technically, stay away from NCS. Your technical skill will be drained off to some small outsource companies.

Just to add on. If you joining as a manager. Pls be aware that it is very political to work there. Some old timer managers can play tai chi with you all year long. NCS mainly do Gov jobs. No commercial value here.

Join Singtel better. At least Singtel got commercial value.

Beware of NCS titles. Because of high turnover esp from the younger staff, they anyhow give out manager titles now.

Last I heard even E5-6 / M1 are known as managers now!

Lord yetifer

Thanks thanks! I'll keep him informed. He has 10 years eng experience and just relocated back in May.

Doesn't sound good to work there...... just found out a poly mate's cousin used to work there for a short while after grad, he said **** **** **** work. LONG LONG LONG LONG hours.. but that was many years ago. Seems like, nothing has changed for these many years?

You still work there?

I left once they merge by Singtel. No career prospects at all, at most you get to be some sort of project director which is like some junior manager in Singtel in terms of pay & benefits

Renewal will be closely tied to the company's ability to secure more business from the customer. If not why pay more for a contractor?

If more multi-year revenue is secured then naturally, the chance of conversion will be high provided you are a good performer.

hopeful 04-10-2012 10:11 PM

don't believe your agent! was previously sub-contracted for a year, was told if good performance would convert to perm after 3 to 6 months.

However, after went in realize the norm is to engage 1st year on sub-contract, 2nd year direct contract, only 3rd year onwards would be considered for perm role.. quit within a few months..

your agent is unethical to have made that commitment on the company's behalf. They probably ever work with only the HR dept and not directly with the business. Neither HR nor your agent would have line of sight to the business or for that matter to the end customer.

The slightly better approach is to discuss possibility of extensions with the hiring manager directly and get the commitment from that person. Once you start that conversation, you will quickly realise they won't commit beyond the contract period, unless they too lack ethics

Depends on grade. 20k is just promoted junior director, on average directors should be 25k - 30k. IIRC they also have mthly car allowance of ~3.5k.

Yup I know for a fact that some project directors make 40k pm. Seems they do reverse pegging to the government elite service.

With bonus, it's easily 500k per annum.

Unregistered 06-10-2012 03:22 AM

I thought I was paid pretty well in IT (200K per annum) until I saw this

No way its that high. A Director in NCS monthly pay is average only 30k, if you add in AWS and bonus only at most 600k max. Most are likely lower than 500k.

Unregistered 09-01-2013 02:55 PM

Easily 800k.

If you are an IT director running a company as large as AIM, 800k is a walk in the park

Unregistered 09-01-2013 11:20 PM

If you are really good with your tech skills, DON'T JOIN NCS!!

Unregistered 10-01-2013 09:59 AM

Some ppl here really know how to exaggerate, NCS confirm dun pay Directors 800k annual.

Their annual basic is only 300-350k and even if you add in all the bonus, shares and perks is only 500k+ to 600k tops.
