just curious, what company offers 6k base with just 1 technical interview lol most places ive seen is 5.5 or above 5.5 with multiple rounds, never 6k with just 1 round lolol

Unregistered who tf lump software engineering with actual engineering like electrical / mechanical? Obviously software engineering will have way higher base pay.

So I have no idea why did you even bring up "Engineering" ITT. Completely irrelevant.

Binance, Motional, Zendesk, BlackMagic just to name a few, all offers 6k+ for fresh grads. I know cause I applied and passed.

Then again I don't know if it applies to you, I did 6 months intern at Google as cloud dev, maybe they let me skip the multiple rounds but I doubt it, I still had to do 3 rounds at Bytedance which is common.
ya NCS nucleus is tech role lol wtf its not engineering la

software engineering doesnt mean engineering ...... also can confirm, motional pay 6k+, some can get 7k, i got friends from overseas partnered uni at SIT getting 6-7k+ already .. 1 ez technical question..

but just saying ah they are not ur typical cs grads, they will pwn FCH NUS / NTU cs people...

so ya lots of places can get 6k+ , if i not wrong EXPRESSVPN also 6k+ and 2 interview 1 behavoral 1 technical but if u think u can get just cos u FCH or grind leetcode for 1-2 months, dream on lol also binance??? its 8k and good luck, u no referral 0 chance confirm

wow these companies really only 1 technical round? and no need to be from local uni cs?

and also, in what world is binance and zendesk "low-tier" as you mentioned?

If you start from a lower pay, next time want to negotiate pay, they will look into your previous pay unless you got lucky.

5.5k is decent, 6k is average, 6.5k+ onward is really good. There's plenty of low-tier tech companies paying outright 6k already for fresh-grads with just 1 simple technical interview... I'm not even talking about FCH CS grads btw, your typical SIT partnership degree grad with 2.5+ GPA can get these jobs already.

TS go with whatever job you want, it's entirely up to you but don't accept a lower pay just because "opportunities". Every company has opportunities to learn and grow...

The fact of the matter is that when you start off at a low base, there's not much growth. Compare someone getting 5.5k with a 3% pay increment and someone at 4.8k getting 3% increment.

5500 -> 5665 = $165 bump
4800 -> 4944 = $144 bump

Assuming typical 1 year pay increment period,

$165 x 12 = $1980
$144 x 12 = $1728

A $252 difference... Now add in the initial base pay difference,

$700 a month, 1 year = $8400 difference.

Also like it or not, in Singapore, a lot of companies will ask for your last drawn salary and peg you to that last drawn pay. You start at a low trash base pay, you MAY get hardstuck at that trash pay.
