who told you its perm role? their HR? lol its subject to headcount and performance, always has been, even back during their Finance and Tech program in 2019.

Kick start your technology career by building your foundation and deepening your specialisation through a 12-month on-the-job and structured training programme, with opportunities to gain valuable real-life working experience through participation in exciting projects undertaken by the Bank.

We're talking about the TDP, Technology Development Programme right?

Yeah that program has no full-time conversion... I'm pretty sure. Last year they had a similar program for tech & finance, my final interview I saw like 250+ people lmfao and we created a discord group since we would get rotated and it would be nice to share experience / info.

At the end of it, 180+ of us got dropped... LOL, the other 70+ I don't even know if they made it, they didn't respond in the discord group.

I am the OG poster for the TDP and I wish to comment that after asking HR, HR has confirmed that they would employ those on TDP after the rotations end.

Yes. the bonus is 10k after 1 year of service with 0.5 year in 1 rotation each.

From technical background in NTU as well... accepted this program thought got prospects, should have felt it was suspicious when the interview was just 1 round and mcqs. The offer came within 24 hours which made it worse

worth a read even if some of what written isnt true anymore (like starting pay for SWE at 3-4k LOL)

if u have technical skills, really would advise you to join the good side of tech in the blog article written above

Yes i want to. What is wrong with being proactive? Like i said, I'm from a non-tech background and don't want to be a deer caught in the headlights when i start the program. And i don't expect to be spoon-fed during the program either.

I mean what did you expect? People don't trust this program lmfao it's literally for anyone with little to no tech skills.

If you're going to self study before starting the program, you're just going to get bored sitting around learning what you already know.

Unregistered 27-05-2022 01:15 PM

didn't applied for this program - but I know friends who have accepted but have renege on the offer due to how uncertain this program is.

Keen to know too.

Unregistered 13-07-2022 08:09 PM

4.5k pay with 10k bonus after 1 year, conversion to perm only if you pass 3 mod test along with an approval from your assigned supervisor. Last batch of 50+, only 3 made it.

not worth it imo but if its the only job u can get then sure

Hi,

I can verify this. The UOB tech program was called something else back in 2018 and it was sponsored. It has since been renamed but the mod tests and assessments are still the same re-used one from the sponsorship training organization...

I'm in the current intake and one of the trainer did mention end-year assessments to qualify for perm roles.

What is the intake size and the % of intake that they are converting to perm?

Around 50+, maybe 3-4 conversions out of that.

Lessons all online. Just FYI but tech in banks is a joke, it's not just UOB but even big banks like JP Morgan etc, their laptops are insanely restricted and you will honestly get pissed off when you realize you can't even use your favorite online tools etc and need to seek IT approval for every single small thing lol
