That guy is bluffing you. GA Ops is not 5k monthly, I am very sure.

I got a few friends inside right now ( 2021 and 2022 batches ), they told me that highest they saw was 4.8k a month which is 57600 SGD base-pay and that's after "negotiations", the default was 4.5k monthly, 54000 SGD annual.

Also yes there's pay increment, it's not fixed. You can expect 3-7% a year, comes with bonus also, about 2-3 months.

If this helps, this is some of my GA ops friends progressions,

2021 Jan intake ( 4500 monthly ) -> 2022 March pay increment ( 4804 monthly )
2022 July intake ( 4500 monthly ) -> 2023 March pay increment ( 4662 monthly )
