[QUOTE=Jettbenoit;125189]Just went for the ops tech B1/2020 interview

Two rounds of interviews, basically went through the standard questions like :-

Tell me more about yourself
What do you know about the position
How do you spend your time when not at work
Are you married/with kids/who is taking care
Are you prepared for shift
Leadership experiences
Proudest achievement

After first interview, was handed a slip of paper. Did not manage to see what was written on it since it was folded, therefore to be safe i followed what he said which was to hand the slip to HR. After which, HR immediately sent me into another room for the second interview. Quite short compared to the first one, questions were pretty much similar to the first round.

Once done, HR mentioned they will get back with a yes or no within 1-2 weeks.

P.S they mentioned they needed about 20-30 for the position. They hiring in batches and this is the first round. So all the best to those who are applying! Hope this helps.[/QUOTED]Do you know whether the interview today was only for operations tech or was it also for other positions such as process tech

No idea man. I think the interview procedure for that day was rather well arranged, not much waiting for me. As i was leaving, observed that there were other people(around 2-3 guys) at the receptionist desk, possibly for an interview as well.

Hope this helps

Hi guys, good day to you. I’m a fresh graduate degree holder in chemical engineering technology (I’m a Malaysian). I just got the interview invitation at HarbourFront Tower from ExxonMobil for Operations Technician. I’ve read through the forum thread and I’ve some questions tho, I’m seeking for some kind souls to enlighten me.

1. Will ExxonMobil cut the pay for foreigners? The current pay I saw from the past thread said that it’s around 1800 to 2000 SGD basic with around 1000 SGD shift allowance, 3 months AWS and VB.

2. I’m aware that degree holder is considered overqualified for the position, but is it true that ExxonMobil will just cap the pay maximum at it and considered you as a diploma holder? I mean like exactly the same?

3. Let’s say I don’t mind to take on the position and work as an Operations Technician, in future can I use the experience from it to just secure an Engineer job (either from ExxonMobil or other companies)? The experience is counted or not? Will it affect my career progression, in the sense of to working back as an Engineer or will be remain treated as a Technician? Can say that I’m planning to take on Technician job first as a stepping stone for few years to gain hands on experience and get into the OnG industry in Singapore. (To be honest the annual pay is decent enough to beat the pay of Engineer in Malaysia after considering living expenses and currency)

Thank you in advance to anyone who reply.

Cheers,
Mr. K

I did received the offer last time, same like yours, an expat however dip holder. Basic offered was 1500, but if you’re a degree holder you may be getting 1800-2000 range. Im unsure if that’s the range set for expat or perhaps the same standard for everyone. Especially when you have non-related experience.
